A former CIA computer engineer, Joshua Schulte, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the biggest theft of classified information in CIA history. Schulte was convicted of providing thousands of CIA documents to WikiLeaks in the so-called "Vault 7" leak in 2017. The leak revealed how the CIA hacked smartphones and turned smart TVs into listening devices for overseas spying operations. Schulte was also convicted of possessing over 2,400 images and videos of child sexual abuse material in jail.
