00:00 One thing I really appreciate about you, Black, is your earnestness and shout out to Six,
00:04 that honesty that you're talking about.
00:06 And I know you just mentioned about learning guitar, picking up instruments for music,
00:11 but what about life have you picked up along the way?
00:13 I feel like that is something that I need to hear, I know a lot of us need to hear,
00:17 and I think you are the perfect person to give us a message in that.
00:20 I would say that anything that I thought I was earlier in my life was just like whatever
00:25 I created for that moment.
00:26 So even if it was I'm too shy or I don't talk that much or I don't greet people, it's
00:32 like all these different things that I put on myself I had to reset and just remind myself
00:37 that I'm brand new as much as I want to be brand new.
00:40 And that's the biggest thing.
00:42 That's the biggest thing.
00:43 Okay, I'm going to take a little word from that.
00:45 And if I remember correctly, you're heading to Europe?
00:48 Yes.
00:49 At the end of this month or like the end of this week?
00:51 About three days.
00:52 I was about to say, I was like, February 9th is actually so close.
00:56 I'll start flying on the 7th.
00:57 Okay, so what are we excited about for this next leg of the story?
01:02 I'm honestly excited to continue to work.
01:04 It's been cool to have a show where people are leaving feeling like fulfilled and happy.
01:09 And I think that is the biggest and best takeaway of any tour that I've had so far is just giving
01:14 people a feeling that I'm still working, you know, towards like achieving every single
01:18 day.
01:19 And do you create while you're on the road or is it just just performance?
01:22 Yeah, normally we create unless the schedule is too tight.
01:24 We try to bring studio equipment all the time because you never know.
01:27 So in those moments, is it something that you pick up on the like, you see something
01:31 and you're like, I want to do this or it's a feeling and you're like, I got to bring
01:35 this down.
01:36 Is that how quickly and how like?
01:37 Yeah, it's normally a feeling like it could be driving by something and a random, you
01:41 know, line pop up in your head, you could see something that inspires you.
01:43 I always got my notes app on handy.
01:45 I got my voice memo app on handy.
01:47 So normally it's spurred a moment, whatever I feel.
01:50 And then when I get in the studio, like I said, it's a lot of just sitting down and
01:53 thinking and whatever comes to spirit is what comes up.
01:56 I would love to take a peek into your notes app because I know that shit is crazy.
02:01 It's a lot in there.
02:02 It's a lot.
02:03 I bet it is.
02:04 I bet it is.
02:05 So if we look at what you would hope for your 2024, what's a song lyric that you think would
02:10 describe what you want this year to look like for you?
02:13 Off the top of my head, since I have a lover, no more lonely nights.
02:16 And I would take that and make it mean more than just something romantic.
02:19 I would just say, you know, creating friendships and relationships and community has brought
02:26 me to a place where I don't have to feel like it's just me against the world all by myself
02:29 and nobody else can help me.
02:30 It's like building a world where I can look to my left and look to my right and know that
02:34 like I'm bringing my people with me.
02:36 I love that.
02:37 And I'm taking that from you because we all need a little bit of that.
02:41 Thank you.
02:42 I appreciate it.
02:42 (whooshing)
