00:00 The flood threat continues today. It's going to ramp up a little bit further south than yesterday,
00:05 including the downtown Los Angeles area could be impacted as well as up here in Malibu.
00:10 And the Santa Monica Mountains are just getting hammered with close to a foot of rainfall
00:15 up there across the higher terrain, squeezing out a lot of that moisture.
00:18 About an inch to an inch and a half per hour of rainfall happened up there all night last night,
00:23 leading to major problems, major flash floods, mud flows, debris flows,
00:28 folders being deposited in the middle of the road. So a very dangerous night last night,
00:32 life-threatening tags all over those flash flood warnings. And the threat is going to continue
00:37 today as the atmospheric river, the moisture plume is going to stall over Southern California today,
00:42 including the Los Angeles area. A couple of those washes in downtown Los Angeles are
00:47 ripping at over 40,000 cubic feet per second, including the Los Angeles River.
00:51 And also Volona Creek was going at nearly 20,000 cubic feet per second last night.
00:57 Some of the strongest flows that we've seen down those washes in a long time. And it's not
01:01 surprising that we have a very strong El Nino in the Pacific Ocean right now. So this is going to
01:06 continue today. Another flood threat tomorrow as well across Southern California, but it's going
01:11 to shift to more of a snow potential as that cold air aloft begins to filter in. So certainly stay
01:16 off the roads. A very dangerous day continues today across Southern California.
