00:00 "If we win the million, we're launching a stop riding camels campaign."
00:04 "Take hikes, not humps."
00:06 Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best risqué jokes or
00:11 pop culture references found in Total Drama that only older fans catch on to.
00:16 "Hey, check it out! I got wood!"
00:21 Number 10. Izzy's Meltdown - Total Drama Action
00:26 "Her career skyrocketed until she lost it on set and scared the lunch out of her crew."
00:31 After Total Drama Action wrapped up, psycho hose beast Izzy begins a successful acting career.
00:38 However, said career comes to a crushing halt when she loses her cool
00:42 and angrily berates a director, scaring the lunch out of him.
00:46 "Or I'll kick your f---ing butt! I want you off this f---ing set!"
00:51 Does Izzy's tirade sound familiar? It should, as it's a direct parody of the infamous Christian
00:58 Bale rant on the set of Terminator Salvation, where he also flipped out on a crew member.
01:03 For obvious reasons, Izzy's rant was more toned down than Bale's,
01:08 but the frustration both actors felt was clear for all to see.
01:12 "Think for a second!"
01:13 "No, no, no! I will not think for a f---ing second! I'm ready to go now!"
01:18 The fact that Total Drama Action is basically a Hollywood homage makes this parody even more
01:24 hilarious.
01:26 9. Owen's Confession - Total Drama Action
01:29 When it's Owen's turn to be interviewed for the aftermath, he's prepared to tell the truth,
01:34 and nothing but. However, before he's even properly asked anything,
01:38 he breaks down and confesses to every bad deed he's ever committed.
01:43 "So, Owen."
01:47 "In the third grade, I cheated on my math exam."
01:49 The admission and montage alone are great, but as a bonus, it's actually an almost
01:56 word-for-word parody of Chunk's confession scene from The Goonies.
02:00 "When my mom sent me to a summer camp for fat kids, and then once during lunch I got nuts,
02:07 and I peed down, and they kicked me out!"
02:11 While poor Chunk admitted all this in the midst of a harsh interrogation,
02:14 Owen panicked before he could even be asked anything, which only added more fuel to the
02:19 funny fire. Hopefully, this parody will encourage anyone who hasn't seen The Goonies
02:24 to check it out for themselves.
02:26 "Owen! I don't think that's what Trent meant."
02:31 "What other type of truth is there?"
02:33 8. Owen Sneaks a Peek - Total Drama Action
02:38 The killer grips are confronting Gwen about Trent throwing challenges for her,
02:43 all the while Owen, Lindsay, and Beth are only wearing bath towels.
02:48 "Tell them what I just heard you say to Trent."
02:50 "Sorry, I can't hear you. Head cold!"
02:55 The conversation gets tense, but pay close attention to Owen at one point. You'll notice
03:01 his eyes wander towards Lindsay's chest, and then he smiles to himself.
03:05 "Oh no!"
03:07 "Why are you and Trent?"
03:09 Not only is ogling one of your friends bad enough, but he picked this horrible,
03:13 tense moment to do it too. If you're not really looking for it, you'll probably miss it.
03:18 But keen-eyed viewers get a little more insight into Owen's character in this brief moment.
03:24 "Great cherry cheesecake! She's bluffing!"
03:28 7. Zee Flying High - Total Drama Island
03:32 "Catch you on the other side!"
03:33 "I can't watch."
03:35 "And they're off!"
03:38 During the reboot's catapult slingshot challenge,
03:41 Zee is flung into the air and loves every minute of it. He claims he's "never been this high" before.
03:47 "I've never been this high before!"
03:50 "Stuff it, Zee! I'm trying to focus!"
03:53 Given Zee's laid-back personality, surfer dude dialect, and strong appetite,
03:58 the phrase could also take on a double meaning. If you're thinking this is a bit of a stretch,
04:03 just wait till Zee gets struck by lightning and has a trippy psychedelic hallucination.
04:08 "Whoa, four fingers!"
04:13 We're not sure if it was intentional, but it definitely got a small chuckle out of us,
04:22 especially when Zee's freakout ended up winning his team the challenge.
04:26 6. The Sinking Island - Total Drama All-Stars
04:30 Thanks to Chris' blunder, Camp Wawanakwa is sinking into the ocean.
04:35 "What do you use to make these moats?"
04:37 "A fracking machine."
04:38 "Whoa, you can't say that on TV!"
04:40 "A fracking machine is a hydraulic drill. You can't use it on an island this small!"
04:45 As the island collapses, a lone butler is seen mournfully playing the violin
04:50 as he tragically accepts his fate. It's a surprisingly grim scene,
04:55 more so when you realize what it's parodying.
04:57 "Cheated out of a million bucks. Again! I hate this show!"
05:02 The butler's actions are a direct reference to the violinists from the RMS Titanic,
05:08 and by extension, its film adaptation. As the ship sank into the icy ocean,
05:13 these brave musicians played one last solemn tune as they went down with it.
05:18 [Music]
05:33 It's fitting that this homage would be used for Wawanakwa's destruction,
05:37 given how much of a staple to Total Drama it was.
05:41 5. AC/DC Tributes - Total Drama Action
05:45 "Today's movie genre is...
05:46 the rock and roll biopic."
05:51 As a tribute to the rock and roll film genre, Season 2's "Rock and Rule" treated
05:56 longtime music fans to a smorgasbord of references to some of our favorite rock musicians.
06:02 Already off the bat, the first challenge of the day featured not one,
06:05 not two, but three references to the Australian rock band AC/DC.
06:10 "Alright!"
06:16 Owen spends this part of the challenge dressed in Angus Young's schoolboy outfit,
06:21 minus a shirt. Meanwhile, Harold proudly references both "Thunderstruck" and "For
06:26 Those About to Rock, We Salute You" before the challenge even starts.
06:31 "For those about to rock, I salute you."
06:36 For an episode dedicated to the genre, we couldn't think of a better band for them to
06:40 pay homage to.
06:41 4. Heather Roasts Courtney - Total Drama World Tour
06:45 During the New Finland Swimming Challenge, Courtney is, yet again, boasting about her
06:50 history as a CIT.
06:52 "Look, I'm a very experienced swimmer. I was a synchro captain. I coach minnows. I am a CIT!"
06:59 Gee, haven't heard that one a thousand times.
07:02 Heather retaliates with "more like a BITC" before being conveniently cut off by Gwen.
07:08 "More like a BITC."
07:10 "Guys, let's get going."
07:12 While younger viewers might not grasp the punchline,
07:15 older fans have a hard time believing that even made it to air. Not only is it hilarious
07:20 wordplay, but it's also arguably one of the most savage comebacks in Total Drama history.
07:26 Heather just about won their whole rivalry with this line alone.
07:29 "I want the tape. Give me the tape! How do you open this thing?"
07:32 3. Noah's Zinger - Total Drama World Tour
07:37 Who doesn't love a double entendre?
07:39 "You'll have to shovel fast or risk getting stuck with an incomplete sausage,
07:43 which will be a lot harder to ride down the hill."
07:46 To set the scene, the three teams are in Germany,
07:48 assembling oversized sausages to sled down the mountain. Unfortunately, Cody's team's sausage
07:55 isn't quite big enough, as Noah points out by laughing at Cody's, quote, "tiny sausage."
08:00 "Cody's got a tiny sausage."
08:05 Without context, the joke takes on a whole new meaning. Was he really talking about
08:10 Cody's makeshift sled or a different piece of equipment? But even with context,
08:16 it's a funny innuendo made better by Noah's dry sarcasm. Of course,
08:21 Cody gets one up on Noah with his retort.
08:23 "At least my team has a sausage!"
08:25 "It's so spicy!"
08:30 2. Horrifying Implications - Total Drama All-Stars
08:35 Revenge of the Island introduced us to Larry, Chris' pet mutant Venus flytrap,
08:41 and probably the only thing Chris cares about more than himself.
08:44 "We were inseparable until I left him on the island and kind of forgot about him for a few
08:49 years while the toxic waste piled up, mutating him into a freakish botanical mistake."
08:54 We're just as shocked about that as you are. However, in All-Stars, Chris and Larry's
09:00 relationship is taken to a disturbingly new level when Mike and Zoe steal Larry's egg for a
09:06 challenge. "Look! It's Larry! And he's got an egg! Which means Larry's actually a lorry?"
09:13 It hatches, and a bundle of mutant plant babies swarm out, including one that resembles Chris.
09:19 While the moment was brief, it raised too many questions that shouldn't be answered.
09:28 Younger viewers might laugh at how absurd it is, but older fans will be struggling not to
09:32 think about all the "disturbing" implications. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few
09:38 honorable mentions. Joe Shaving - Total Drama
09:41 Revenge of the Island Joe pulls out a razor, but we don't see what's being shaved.
09:46 "Now that is how you do hair!" "I'll pass on the frilly girly hair care, thank you."
09:56 531-8008 - Total Drama Island It's a juvenile joke, but it's a classic.
10:02 "Did you know that pooping in a stranger's purse on a bus is a crime? Yet somehow,
10:08 if I dropped brown crayons in my own pants, I wouldn't have a criminal record!"
10:13 Gordon - Total Drama Action A chef with a bad attitude reminds us of the
10:18 famously volatile Gordon Ramsay. "I'm making DJ sandwiches,
10:22 but there's some stupid ingredient I can't figure out!"
10:25 "Guess Gordon's got a tamper on him!" Izzy's Film Career - Total Drama Action
10:34 Izzy's filmography looks pretty familiar. "Izzy turned out to be an awesomely talented
10:39 actor on the set of Total Drama Action. Post-elimination, she signed a stack of movie deals!"

11:04 Alejandro Destroys Heather - Total Drama World Tour
11:10 "Heather has a way of making my focus slip, like a too small speedo!"
11:14 In the penultimate episode of World Tour, Heather and Alejandro are arguing
11:19 over their walkie-talkies. Heather remarks that she can just turn Alejandro off,
11:24 referring to the walkie-talkies. But Alejandro roasts her back,
11:28 saying how she's an "expert" at turning people off.
11:31 "Guess what? I can just turn you off!" "Of course you can! You're an expert at
11:37 turning people off!" "Ugh!"
11:39 Kids might miss the joke, but more mature viewers will appreciate just how savage Al's comeback
11:45 really was. And yet, Al is still hopelessly in love with her, so he doesn't have a ton of room
11:50 to talk. "She can't distract me with her clever words, or her distrustful eyes, or the way she
11:55 tucks her hair behind those cute little earlobes. Gah! Focus!"
12:00 Savage comebacks and innuendos like this are what make Total Drama a treat for teens and adults.
12:06 What Total Drama joke or reference did you miss? Let us know in the comments.
12:11 "Over there! Over there!" "I know, Jose, it's just not—"
12:15 "That shock for you, always trailing behind. But still, he's an asset to the team."
