00:05 Carano filed a complaint on Tuesday in California federal court for discrimination and wrongful
00:11 termination and alleges she was fired for voicing right-wing opinions on social media.
00:16 Elon Musk, who made a promise to foot the legal bill for users who claim they have
00:20 been discriminated against due to their activity on his platform, is helping fund the suit through
00:25 X. In a statement, X's head of business operations Joe Benaroc said, "We're proud to provide
00:30 financial support for Gina Carano's lawsuit, empowering her to seek vindication for her
00:35 free speech rights on X." Lucasfilm in 2021 announced that Carano would not be returning
00:41 to the hit series after sharing a long string of posts seen as right-wing, in which she previously
00:46 mocked government mandates to wear masks during the COVID-19 pandemic and falsely suggested that
00:51 voter fraud occurred during the 2020 presidential election. While she was allegedly fired for her
00:56 cultural and religious beliefs, Carano argues in the complaint that the entertainment giant
01:01 turned a blind eye to her male co-stars, who allegedly made offensive posts directed towards
01:06 Republicans. She points to Pedro Pascal's 2017 post comparing former President Donald Trump to
01:12 Hitler. She seeks a court order that would force Lucasfilm to recast her and at least $75,000 plus
01:19 punitive damages. For much more details on this lawsuit, head to THR.com. And for the
