00:00 You've been part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme for five and a half years now.
00:06 Why did you first get involved?
00:08 I like to help people and there's so many lonely, especially elderly people,
00:14 so I just want to give back and help as many people as I can.
00:18 Describe to people who might not know what you do, what is it?
00:21 How do you help these people on a weekly basis?
00:23 Well, you can go around to their home once a fortnight or once a week.
00:28 I asked one of my ladies if she'd like me to come once a month when I first met her,
00:32 or once a fortnight or once a week, and she said, "Oh, once a week, please."
00:36 And you can sit with them and have a cup of tea or you just talk
00:39 or you can go for a little walk down the street, whatever they like to do,
00:43 just so that they've got some company.
