00:01 Hello, Billboard, it's Madison Beer.
00:03 The Grammys are about to start,
00:05 so come in with me and get ready.
00:07 [upbeat music]
00:09 I definitely did not set my expectations high
00:16 because I shouldn't feel a moment of disappointment today.
00:19 This is like an amazing achievement that I'm even going,
00:21 let alone nominated, it's ridiculous.
00:24 - The Grammy nominated Madison Beer.
00:26 - Oh my God!
00:28 Oh my God!
00:30 I was nominated for best immersive album,
00:32 which is a really cool category
00:34 'cause it's sort of like the way you mix the music
00:36 and it's this really immersive sound and experience.
00:39 And I wanted people to feel like
00:40 they were sort of being transported away.
00:42 I wanted you to be able to listen to the whole album
00:43 and feel, yeah, I don't know,
00:45 like maybe you were being taken somewhere else.
00:47 So yeah, it was obviously an honor
00:49 to be nominated for that.
00:51 âȘ All I need âȘ
00:55 âȘ Is sweet relief âȘ
00:58 I'm honestly the worst when it comes
01:01 to preparation for things.
01:03 Like I didn't shave my legs last night
01:05 because I was like, yes, I'm wearing a long dress,
01:06 I don't have to.
01:07 Things like that, I just like don't,
01:08 I don't wanna say care enough,
01:09 'cause that sounds wrong.
01:11 I do care, but I don't,
01:13 I don't care enough at the same time.
01:14 And I'm not really good at these types of things.
01:16 I feel a lot of imposter syndrome
01:18 when I'm like amongst these people
01:20 and I'm at these places.
01:21 I just, I don't know.
01:23 I still feel like, what am I doing here?
01:25 Well, now that I've gotten a little bit older,
01:30 I can look back at like some of my carpets
01:32 from when I was 14, 13, 15 area,
01:36 and I just laugh.
01:38 I went to, actually funny enough,
01:39 the Billboard Music Awards.
01:41 I'm pretty sure it was 20,
01:43 it had to be 2016 or 17.
01:44 And I literally wore Topshop jeans,
01:49 stretchy high-waisted like jeggings.
01:52 A furry like silver metallic vest that is yours, mom.
01:57 Remember that vest?
01:59 - Yeah.
01:59 - That vest was heinous.
02:01 - Sorry.
02:02 - It was so ugly.
02:04 And then like a black bodysuit.
02:06 And I thought it was serving.
02:08 I was like, oh my God, I'm about to eat.
02:11 And you can look at the pictures.
02:13 I'll let you guys insert a photo here.
02:15 It was just a brutal outfit, I think.
02:19 I kind of had a little bit of,
02:22 I don't want to say wedding,
02:24 even though I know that's what everyone's gonna say.
02:25 I had a little bit of inspo with wedding dresses
02:28 because everyone always says it's like
02:29 the most important day of a girl's life.
02:31 And this is like the most important day of my life.
02:33 So I figured it was gonna be a cute thing to do
02:36 and wear something that was like
02:38 in that same sort of vibe.
02:40 So yeah, that's what we decided on.
02:42 The dress I'm wearing today is custom Marmar Halim,
02:45 and I'm very excited.
02:47 I think we had probably four or five contenders,
02:50 and then I saw this dress and I was like,
02:53 I think that's it.
02:53 And I just felt like a princess in it.
02:55 And that was my whole thing.
02:56 I was like, I want to feel like an extravagant princess
02:58 at the Grammys.
02:59 Chris and I have been arguing about this
03:01 because you cannot see my feet.
03:03 So I'm like, I'm not wearing some uncomfortable, crazy shoe.
03:06 They're not uncomfortable.
03:08 Look at it.
03:09 Beautiful options.
03:11 It's just, they're unnecessarily high.
03:13 For who?
03:15 To put me through agony?
03:17 For what?
03:18 I don't get it.
03:19 Like, there's no reason, thank you.
03:21 So we're probably gonna have a discussion about that.
03:25 Stuart Weitzman did give us a beautiful pair of high heels.
03:29 But they're like too high.
03:31 This is my incredible makeup artist.
03:36 This is Cherish Brookhill, the queen herself.
03:39 And this is Mel Dominguez.
03:41 This is my glam team.
03:43 They do everything.
03:44 Ideally, if they're both available
03:46 and willing to do everything with me,
03:47 they do everything with me.
03:48 She's been doing my makeup since I was 15.
03:50 So we're going on nine years.
03:52 And Mel's been doing my hair for four years.
03:55 So this is fam right here.
03:56 So this is another big achieved day.
03:58 We did Met Gala together.
04:00 We did VMAs together.
04:02 We've done a lot.
04:03 And I love them very much.
04:05 Sometimes.
04:07 I definitely get worried before carpets
04:10 because I am someone that just listens
04:14 to what everyone has to say.
04:14 But I have gotten better in recent years
04:16 with just if I feel good in something
04:19 and I feel confident in it,
04:20 it doesn't really matter what anyone else says.
04:21 And I already know people are gonna say
04:22 it looks like a wedding dress.
04:23 And people are gonna say whatever the hell else.
04:26 But if I feel good in it, then whatever, it's fine.
04:28 And I think that's like the most important mindset
04:30 to adopt is when you're about to be
04:32 in the biggest night of music.
04:34 People are always gonna ask me to say.
04:35 So you have to just feel good about it,
04:37 go into it confident.
04:39 All right, Billboard, I'm off.
04:40 Thanks so much for getting ready with me.
04:42 Love you.
04:44 (upbeat music)
04:45 I am reunited with my girl, Madison Beer.
04:47 Hey.
04:48 Oh my gosh, your first Grammy nomination.
04:50 How does it feel?
04:51 It feels amazing and I'm so happy and excited.
04:53 And it's an honor, of course.
04:54 I mean, me and the rest of your fans
04:55 will always say that you've deserved this a long time ago.
04:58 Thank you.
04:59 I'm glad the day has finally come.
05:00 I appreciate that.
