WIRES says Lorikeet Paralysis Syndrome is affecting hundreds of lorikeets daily in northern regions of NSW.

00:03 As you can hear, and probably see, we've got at least 180 rainbow lorikeets
00:07 and some scaly-breasted lorikeets here that are part of the lorikeet paralysis syndrome
00:12 that's going down at the moment.
00:13 What we're wanting members of the public to do is if they see any weak rainbow or scaly-breasted lorikeets
00:19 on the ground, to bring them in to us here at 8 Kent Street, Grafton.
00:23 The sooner we get them, the sooner we start treatment with fluids and glucose
00:28 that they need to flush whatever this toxin is through their body,
00:32 the sooner that we can try to get them out to carers and get them better.
