00:00 So I'm Dr Dev Patel and I've been a doctor 24 years. Initially spent nine years working
00:07 in the Navy as a Royal Medical Officer and then I moved over to NHS General Practice
00:15 for about four years before setting up Perfect Skin Solutions. So we're almost 10 years old.
00:22 Excellent. And so which awards have you been nominated for?
00:25 So this year for the Aesthetic Awards, which is our kind of Oscars in the industry, we've
00:29 actually made finalists in three categories as a clinic. Best Clinic Team, which is for
00:36 the whole UK, Best Clinic South East England and I've also personally been nominated for
00:43 Medical Aesthetic Practitioner of the Year as well. And then I do have a skincare brand,
00:48 Salderma, which actually has been reached as finalists for Best Skincare Range of the
00:53 Year. Excellent. So quite a lot of under-the-belt.
00:55 Yes, so hopefully we'll get something, but who knows.
00:59 Wonderful. So how does it feel to have your work recognised?
01:03 Well understandably amazing. It's, you know, we do, one of the key things that our clinic
01:12 and our culture is based on and everything I do is an obsessive attention to detail.
01:17 And when you do that and you know you're doing it far beyond what many others may do because
01:21 you care, because that's the other thing that is very essential to me and to everyone we
01:26 recruit into the team, to have that then recognised when considering we are amongst some incredible
01:36 other clinics around the country, that is a very nice endorsement. You know, the judges,
01:42 it's around a panel of 100 judges who are, you know, considered the top of the industry.
01:48 So for that external endorsement, it means a lot to me and the whole team.
01:53 And it's about caring above and beyond. And I always ask that of someone when they join
01:57 the team in the interview. I say, if you care, it means you will go above and beyond for
02:02 your colleagues and also your patients. And if you do that, you build what is essential
02:07 to me and that is a long-term relationship with our patients. We, and many will say that
02:12 in reviews, that, you know, we'll often say no to patients. It's not about making a quick
02:16 buck off anyone. It's about doing the right thing by them and ultimately long-term, it
02:21 leads to stronger business because we have a long-term relationship with our patients.
02:25 Many of them have been with me longer than the clinic's been standing.
02:29 Excellent. So then that leads to the next question. What are your ambitions for the
02:33 future of this clinic?
02:35 Well, one of our key factors of success has been that we've always tried to stay ahead
02:42 of the curve. We are based in Portsmouth, but we have been the first to launch some
02:48 now globally renowned treatments. For example, Exocel treatments, Morpheus 8, the new Ultra
02:56 Clear Laser, which is one of only five or six in the whole country. And as a result,
03:02 we have patients coming to us genuinely from the States, from the Middle East, flying specifically
03:07 to the UK to come and see us here for treatment. And every day we have at least two patients
03:12 coming from London. So for the future really is to still stay ahead of the curve, be pioneers,
03:20 innovators for the industry. We're increasing how much we do in research because I think
03:25 it's important to contribute to the industry and allow people to practice evidence-based
03:30 medicine, which is something that's lacking in our sub-special interest, sorry, sub-speciality
03:37 of aesthetic medicine, but is well known in mainstream medicine. And then lastly, to just
03:43 continue giving that personalised service. So even now our patients, we have over 10,000
03:50 patients registered, but they still say to us, they still feel they're getting that personal
03:54 touch that they once got when they were registered when I only had 100 patients. And if we can
03:59 continue to do that, then I think, you know, the future is going to remain bright.
