00:00 All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's day two at Radio Row. I got the dog himself Saquon Barkley. How you feeling man? I feel great
00:07 Radio Row Super Bowl Vegas
00:09 You know seeing a lot of familiar faces and having a great time. Yeah. All right. So let's talk about last season
00:15 How would you grade your performance on the field last year?
00:18 How would I grade my performance on the field last year? That's a great question
00:22 Um, a lot of adversities not just only through myself facing the ankle injury, but just throughout the team
00:29 But I think every single day I came with the right mindset. I made some plays
00:34 still had
00:37 Almost 1300 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. So that's it's not a not a bad year. Obviously, you know, I always aim for higher
00:43 But I fight with the situation. I try to make the most of it
00:47 And also it's a beauty in it as you can learn from it
00:51 Try to get better for the for the next year. All right
00:54 All right, so you guys know I'm an ex Dallas Cowboy this dude used to run up and down the sidelines on us
00:59 So I'm ready for him to leave the Jacks
01:02 Okay
01:02 But for guys like boomer science and they say that you deserve to play or be competitive looking for a Super Bowl
01:08 How do you feel about people that think you should leave New York? Um, yeah
01:12 Well, I would say Dallas kind of got the best of us this year
01:16 Um, I think we lost like 80 to 20 to Dallas this year, which is never fun
01:22 Always fun playing against Dallas, but not when it goes that way
01:25 People saying I should leave New York. I appreciate it. I
01:29 Got a value their pain. They got a job to do
01:32 No, I respect boomer a lot
01:35 But when it comes to like talking about competitive team
01:39 I do believe like the year before the New York Football Giants were in a divisional playoffs and we lost to the NFC's
01:45 You know the NFC
01:47 champion the Eagles
01:49 It just you know and it feels about year to year
01:52 And last year we had an injury bug. We had a lot of adversity and we still even with all that at some point
01:59 We had a chance to still make the playoffs
02:00 So yes
02:01 I think the Giants just the organization that they have the great from top to bottom and I know those those men
02:08 Personally in a locker room and I know, you know the way that they come to work in the way that they compete so
02:13 But hey, it's a business I get it and whatever happens. I'm ready for it
02:18 Alright, so you talk about it's a business that's for sure
02:20 so we were on the golf course with Emma Smith recently and he said he doesn't like the
02:25 Disrespect that the value of the running backs are getting you want to share some light on that? Yeah, I agree
02:31 Um, I think it's just recency bias
02:33 They're going basically off of you know, a couple of guys that that's been paid
02:39 Might have caught you know a little injury bug or didn't have the same success in the seasons
02:46 They had prior but you can say that for a lot of positions. Yeah, there's a lot of positions and you know
02:52 I'm not gonna go in names
02:53 You know that they get paid a lot of money and it's like they don't have the same day or they never produce the same
02:58 Way to go for it because you know why it's the National Football League. It's hard. Yeah, it's not easy
03:03 It's hard to do a year in a year out
03:05 And it's not if you get injured it's when you get exactly
03:09 So yeah, I think it's a recent buys, but if you see
03:12 you know San Fran I think that that team is
03:16 You know, I think
03:18 Christians the thing that gets it going. There's a lot of talent over there. There's a lot of moving pieces
03:22 But that's a running back right there that's doing it. I think Derek Henry's been doing for years
03:27 You know a lot of people didn't try to give me credit last year
03:30 But when the New York Football Giants made to the playoffs last year
03:32 I feel like I was a big focal point and a big reason of that. So everything's always gonna
03:36 Straighten yourself out. Sadly. It didn't happen last year when I needed it the most probably
03:41 But everything happens to reason I learned a lot from that too
03:44 Yeah, I feel like you took that with grace especially in the media because you didn't really like go hard on nobody
03:51 You're like hey, it's a business. I get you get from it though. That's right
03:54 You know, I mean like I like I can go out and I can
03:58 Say I started a little bit at the end
04:00 I don't like like the like how to try to like change a narrative or my character
04:05 like what the sources come out and that's what like kind of like
04:09 Threw me off. But if I go if I feel a type of way like I'm not the person to just run the Twitter
04:15 Yeah, right, right have my feelings and then just so someone can hold that tweet and I know life happens football happens
04:23 You're not gonna be the top of the mile in your whole career. It's father time gets everybody right?
04:28 Yeah, father time is everyone so
04:30 For someone just save it like that. I don't think I handled it with grace. I just there's really nothing I could
04:37 There's nothing I could and
04:39 Me going on Twitter and saying going crazy and saying it is the same that do I think that would have got the deal done?
04:44 I don't think so either. I think anything it probably would have hurt even more
04:47 I think a lot of people respect the way I handled it to be completely honest and it's bigger than football
04:52 You know, I wouldn't be on this. I want to do stuff like this. So
04:55 Just learn from it. That's what's up. Okay, so we're obviously here is the Super Bowl. What's your predictions out?
05:01 You're gonna hate this answer cuz it's like the
05:06 this media answer
05:08 From a betting man. I don't bet against Christian. I don't bet against a Patrick Mahomes
05:13 Yeah, but I have probably more friendships on the San Fran. So I probably will want San Fran to win
05:18 but at the same time
05:21 It's gonna be one Super Bowl winner and the the beauty of the NFL is it's only one and everybody else is has equivalent to
05:29 Who's the worst teams there Carolina? It's the same thing. You know when the Super Bowl that's the goal
05:34 You know, if you're one to 31, it's the same thing only one team hosts up that LeBron
05:38 Okay, so tell us about your partnership with silk. I heard if you got the tofu touchdown smoothie on
05:43 Touchdown smoothie smoothie. I was able to create through the silk feel plenty good challenge. It's a great challenge. It happened in January
05:50 I was able to participate in it. So I bought putting the right things your body putting the right nutrients your body
05:54 But also healthy and delicious
05:56 That's that's tough. And when you think of athletes and you think of football players you think of loading up on cars you think of meats
06:03 And it's not always that and I think people overcomplicate graphics
06:07 They try to do too much and why not just start your day off with a tofu touchdown smoothie
06:12 And it's easy into great ingredients and you know, it's gonna be great for you
06:15 Say Quan Barkley, you might catch me him on the golf course soon. Yeah, which a handicap. It's a six. Oh damn
06:21 I'm not playing no more. So I got time
06:27 I got time on hand.
06:28 Ladies and gentlemen, Saquon Barkley.
