00:00 So we had Gary V on earlier, I got sauce garden in the building.
00:04 Gary said like y'all are not too far off from being big time contenders.
00:09 How do you feel about that?
00:11 >> That's a valid statement.
00:12 >> Yeah. >> Definitely not too far off.
00:15 We gotta make sure we all bond in.
00:16 This is about to be a crucial off season, off season.
00:20 That's how I put it.
00:22 It's gonna be extremely important, everything we do.
00:24 The new people that we bring in the facility.
00:26 >> Yeah. >> Whether it's coaches,
00:27 whether it's players, whoever.
00:29 It's gonna be critical.
00:31 And whoever we bring in, gotta make sure they bond into what the coaches want and
00:35 what the players want.
00:37 Because we about to form a brotherhood and a bond that's unbreakable.
00:41 So that way when you go on that field, you're out there playing for
00:44 your brother next to you.
00:45 You know what I'm saying?
00:46 That's just how I always am.
00:48 But that's how we all have to be.
00:49 >> Right, right.
00:50 >> You know what I mean?
00:50 >> Right.
00:51 So despite everything that y'all had going on, y'all still carved out seven wins.
00:57 Now a guy like me, I'm a receiver.
01:00 I feel like the only thing that y'all need on that field is A-Rod to be able to lead
01:05 the offensive side of the ball.
01:07 Do you feel like A-Rod being back in the fold is going to change things drastically
01:11 for you guys?
01:12 >> For sure.
01:14 When he out there with the offense, it look like a whole different offense.
01:17 >> Yeah.
01:18 >> But that's what I'm saying.
01:19 That's just the brotherhood.
01:21 That's them trusting their Aaron.
01:22 So everybody just look more confident in each other.
01:27 And they look more confident in their abilities.
01:29 >> Yeah.
01:30 >> You know what I'm saying?
01:30 But it shouldn't have to take Aaron to be on the field.
01:34 >> Right, right, yeah.
01:34 >> Everybody be feeling kind of confident.
01:36 So everybody be feeling confident in what they could do.
01:38 >> Right. >> You know what I'm saying?
01:39 So that's what I'm saying.
01:40 That brotherhood, we just gotta know we playing for the man next to us.
01:43 It can't be no Aaron not out here.
01:45 So- >> Right, right.
01:47 >> Can't be none of that.
01:48 >> Trust and accountability.
01:49 >> Yeah, sure.
01:50 >> For sure.
01:51 Okay, so since you've been in the league, you've been strapping cats up.
01:54 You were talking about it before you came into the league, and
01:56 you've been doing it.
01:58 What are some of the things for you that you're working on to continue to elevate
02:02 your game as you keep going?
02:04 >> I work on everything.
02:05 Anything that y'all ever see me doing well, just know I'm still working on it.
02:09 You know what I'm saying?
02:10 Cuz I try to be perfect, but I know there's no such niggas.
02:14 >> Right.
02:14 >> Perfect people.
02:15 >> Right. >> You know what I mean?
02:16 So it's to the point where if there's something that you're good at and
02:19 people think you're quote unquote perfect at.
02:22 If you stop doing it and move on to other stuff and
02:24 you're not working on the fundamentals, you're gonna lose your technique.
02:27 You're not gonna be able to do it as well as you was doing it.
02:29 So I'm working on everything, you know what I'm saying?
02:32 >> So we had Prime, we had Deion Sanders, we talked to him about a couple hours ago.
02:36 Who were some of the DBs that you looked up to that you modeled your game after
02:40 coming up?
02:40 >> Man, it's a lot.
02:44 >> Yeah.
02:45 >> It's a lot, but it's like when I was young, I used to watch DBs, but
02:49 I wasn't really watching them for their technique.
02:51 I was watching them for their personality.
02:54 >> Okay. >> It's like growing up,
02:55 I was playing receiver my whole life.
02:57 >> Dope, dope.
02:57 >> I was always watching Calvin Johnson, Chad Ochoa Singo was my favorite receiver.
03:02 >> Thanks, mine too.
03:03 >> In high school, Calvin really was my favorite receiver.
03:07 But when I was younger, I used to always be watching Pat P.
03:10 It's crazy, I met Pat P at the Pro Bowl, and I met Devin Hester at the Pro Bowl.
03:18 I remember I switched my number in Little League to 23 because of Devin Hester.
03:21 And it's like, bro, I'm a huge fan.
03:24 You know what I'm saying?
03:24 It's like, that was just a blessing to be able to meet both of them.
03:28 So like corner wise, Pat P, Derrell Rivas,
03:32 Champ Bailey, I used to watch Deion Sanders YouTube videos.
03:37 >> Yeah.
03:38 >> But he played before my time, but it was more like the way he carried himself.
03:44 Everybody always talked about him, so I'd go on YouTube and be like, yeah,
03:47 he was that dude, for real.
03:48 >> Yeah, I see that, I see that.
03:49 >> Shurn, Nas, you feel me?
03:53 You got Jaylon Ramsey.
03:54 Jaylon Ramsey was my favorite corner in the league, coming into the league.
03:58 >> Yeah. >> In college,
03:59 he was one of the only corners that I watched.
04:02 >> Yeah, yeah.
04:02 >> You see what I'm saying?
04:03 >> Okay, I like that, I like that answer.
04:05 So talking about the Super Bowl this week, who do you have winning the game?
04:10 Like who you got locked, you know it's gonna happen.
04:13 I know we talked a little bit earlier, but who do you have winning?
04:15 And give me a score, I need a score.
04:17 >> It's hard, bro.
04:20 The Chiefs always find a way to win.
04:22 >> Yeah.
04:24 >> I don't even know how they in the Super Bowl right now.
04:26 >> [LAUGH] >> I'm not talking in terms of like,
04:28 they can't be, they shouldn't be there.
04:31 But it's like, the way that they season was going, you remember everybody was like-
04:33 >> Yeah, everybody was talking about-
04:34 >> They about to be-
04:35 >> Drop passes.
04:36 >> It's over with, yeah.
04:37 But then it's like, look, they find a way to win, but
04:39 that's because they got elite coaches.
04:41 They got elite talent all around the field.
04:44 You know what I mean?
04:44 So I don't know.
04:47 The Niners, them boys cooking over there too.
04:48 >> They are.
04:49 >> So I can't pick nobody.
04:51 I don't really know, man.
04:52 >> [LAUGH] >> I don't really know.
04:53 >> Sauce tight lit right now.
04:55 You don't want to be here all day.
04:56 >> The majority of people are probably gonna say the Niners.
04:57 >> Okay. >> People tired of seeing the Chiefs.
04:59 >> Yeah, they are.
05:00 >> You know what I mean? >> Ain't that crazy though?
05:01 >> It is crazy. >> Ain't that crazy?
05:02 When you the underdog, they love you.
05:03 But then when you become the guy, they don't.
05:05 >> Yes, no, that is.
05:05 >> They want you to.
05:06 >> That's weird energy.
05:07 >> Yeah. >> Especially the way the Chiefs season went.
05:10 >> They was not looking good.
05:12 >> And they still made it though.
05:13 So I'm happy to see them.
05:17 Trav, that's my dog.
05:18 Cincinnati Bearcat alum.
05:20 I'm happy that he in the Super Bowl.
05:23 So I'm saying, I don't know.
05:26 It'll be good to see Trav get a ring.
05:28 But on the Niner side, Embry Thomas, the cornerback.
05:31 >> Embry, that's my dog.
05:32 >> He went to King.
05:33 He went to King.
05:34 We went to the same high school.
05:35 >> We trained together in Arizona, yeah.
05:37 >> Yeah, so we was in high school together.
05:38 So I done watched him grow, man.
05:41 >> That's what's up.
05:42 >> He was a five star, getting mail from the top teams.
05:45 I'm watching him throw mail away.
05:46 >> That's what's up.
05:47 >> I ain't going there.
05:48 I ain't going there.
05:49 It's like me, I'm in the ninth grade.
05:51 >> You like, bruh.
05:52 >> I'm 5'7", 120, 130.
05:55 I'm like, bro, you throwing mail away from them?
05:58 >> Right, right, that's what's up.
05:59 >> I don't know what I'd do if I could be getting mail like that.
06:02 You know what I mean?
06:03 >> Bro.
06:04 >> The day's full circle now, looking back at it, that's what's up.
06:06 >> Yeah. >> That's crazy.
06:08 Tell us about your partnership with Verizon, bro.
06:10 >> Man, it's always a blessing to be here.
