00:33 I'd like to extend best wishes to all my fellow Tibetan friends around the globe.

00:43 2023 was a year of great accomplishments.
00:47 Millions of individuals from different walks of life
00:52 all played a part in moving our nation forward.
00:57 Last year, I spent more than six months visiting many places
01:02 in Xizang, Sichuan, Yunnan, and some other provinces.
01:07 I witnessed the unity among different ethnic groups,
01:12 as well as the harmony between monastics and laymen.
01:17 Everywhere, I saw sunshine and smiling faces.
01:21 I heard stories about how much people enjoy living in harmony with nature.
01:28 I saw mountains and rivers that are beautiful and vibrant.
01:33 I saw how Tibetan medicine is being inherited, developed, and promoted,
01:40 and how our ancient Tibetan books,
01:43 as well as our Tibetan intangible cultural heritage, are being preserved.
01:50 Thanks to the support of our nation,
01:53 freedom of religious belief is fully guaranteed.
01:58 Tibetan Buddhist activities are well organized,
02:02 and the living standards of monastics are steadily improving.
02:08 People are living in greater happiness and peace.
02:14 Life was not always easy in 2023,
02:18 but still we are filled with confidence.
02:22 Whenever natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods or typhoons struck,
02:29 or other hardships occurred,
02:32 people worked together to overcome the difficulties.
02:36 Together we are stronger,
02:39 and when we face tough times with unity,
02:43 it makes all the difference.
02:46 Although we faced challenges in 2023,
02:51 we could also appreciate the fragrance of the lotus flowers.
02:56 People really embraced each other,
02:59 accepting their own imperfections and understanding others.
03:05 They pushed forward all the way with determination.
03:11 That spirit, that was driving China forward into a brighter future.
03:19 We all want peace.
03:22 Peace is the root for prosperity and a precondition for development.
03:28 Human civilization in the 21st century should aim to benefit all living creatures
03:36 and respect every individual.
03:39 Every small act of kindness,
03:42 every bit of goodness we put out there,
03:46 it adds up.
03:48 Let's keep that momentum going for establishing the community
03:53 with a shared future for mankind.
03:57 Speaking of which, let's make this year count.
