00:05 >> Today, another senseless act of violence occurred on our transit system.
00:11 We have innocent victims, and we want New Yorkers to know that we will get you,
00:16 whoever was responsible for this.
00:19 >> All right, so let me start off by saying this.
00:23 We don't believe this was a random shooting.
00:26 We do not believe that this was an individual indiscriminately
00:31 firing into a train or in a train station.
00:34 This incident today occurred, or
00:37 was as a result of two groups that started fighting while on a train.
00:43 Of the six people that were shot, there's four males and two females,
00:48 and their ages range from 14 to 71 years old.
00:52 All six victims were taken to local hospitals, and
00:55 unfortunately, one of the victims, a 34-year-old,
00:59 was pronounced deceased as a result of being shot.
01:03 This is unacceptable.
01:05 And when detectives make an arrest, and notice I said when,
01:09 because I'm very confident they will, there must be swift,
01:13 immediate, strong consequences.
