The Body in the Library (1984) (Episode 1)
The 1st part of 3 episodes of the Miss Marple mystery from the Joan Hickson series. Colonel and Dolly Bantry awake one morning to discover that there is the dead body of a young girl lying on the hearthrug in their library. Who she is and how she got there is anybody's guess, but the police soon trace the identity to that of a dancer working at a hotel in London. But as the case progresses, Dolly's friend - elderly spinster Jane Marple - fears that there will soon be another murder committed...
This was the first mystery adaptation that was ever done of the Joan Hickson Miss Marple series, and the last of the Miss Marples that I have. From a old recording from a few years ago, this also starred Gwen Watford, Moray Watson, David Horovitch, Ian Brimble, Trudi Styler, Jess Conrad, Andrew Cruishanks, Anthony Smee, Valentine Dyall, Ciaran Maddern, Keith Drinkel, John Moffatt, Sally Jane Jackson, Debbie Arnold, Raymond Francis, Frederick Jaegar, John Bardon and Arthur Bostrum (Allo Allo) among a large cast. Please note I only have a few of the Joan Hickson Miss Marples so I will upload what I do have over the next month or so. Part 2 and 3 to follow tomorrow.
