00:00 23-year-old Sajintha Bhadagodeghe sought help from the Royal Adelaide Hospital three times
00:08 after he started vomiting and coughing up blood.
00:11 He was repeatedly sent home from the emergency department, once with an order to take Panadol,
00:16 on the third occasion he was told to see his GP.
00:19 Reliving the days before her husband's death, Yolani Pereira told the inquest she thought
00:24 hospital staff would have taken his case more seriously, with a couple filming the blood
00:29 he was throwing up to help inform staff.
00:32 It was our first time in a hospital.
00:35 We were scared.
00:36 We had no confidence.
00:38 He was going with whatever they were saying.
00:41 Counsel assisting the coroner told the court Ms Pereira asked the triage nurse for her
00:45 husband to be admitted.
00:47 She told the nurse that her husband was fearing for his life and he had lost too much blood.
00:53 Her pleas for medical assistance for her husband went unheeded.
00:57 The court heard on the day he was turned away, Mr Bhadagodeghe collapsed and died at a radiology
01:03 clinic where he was undergoing a further scan.
01:06 The deputy state coroner will also examine the death of 38-year-old Hemanth Shada, who
01:10 died from pneumonia after presenting to the Royal Adelaide and Lyall McEwen hospitals.
01:16 Counsel assisting told the court two paramedics who picked up Mr Shada on two separate occasions
01:21 allegedly told his wife he was being overdramatic.
01:25 The ambulance officers accused her husband of creating drama and I quote "being naughty".
01:31 The court heard Mr Shada prevented his wife from calling an ambulance hours before his
01:36 death because of their distressing ambulance experience.
01:39 The inquest will hear from those paramedics later this month.
