00:00 Nashville, North Carolina has been called one of the best food cities in the country.
00:03 Here's everything we ate while we were in town.
00:05 We heard a lot of locals recommend whole donuts, so we made it our first stop.
00:09 The vanilla glazed and powdered donuts with a cup of coffee were perfect for a fall morning,
00:13 so we grabbed a half baker's dozen to go.
00:15 If you want a light snack around lunchtime, head to SNW Food Hall.
00:18 We stopped at Micasa Criolla for delicious empanadas.
00:20 If you're still feeling hungry after that, run, do not walk, to La Bodega for Spanish tapas,
00:26 a Keo confit with blue cheese, seared octopus, patatas, and a glass of wine will set you right.
00:30 Dinner options were the hardest to narrow down, but we tried.
00:33 First, Adesai for Ethiopian food.
00:35 We got a little ginger beer and a big meat platter with a combination of non-spicy and
00:39 spicy beef stews, plus doro kiwat, which is chicken drumsticks in spicy bergeri sauce.
00:44 Alternatively, you can go for Indian street food at Chai Pani.
00:47 This is a pretty famous spot led by a James Beard Award nominated chef, and it tends to get packed.
00:52 So, if you can't get reservations, head to their sister restaurant, Baniwala,
00:56 where you can get a lot of the same dishes, including the vada pav, which were my personal favorite.
01:00 At that point, we were ready to end the night, and so we headed over to Ben's Tune Up,
01:03 a sake brewery that's built inside a former auto body shop.
01:06 The vibe and the in-house sake were great, as was the garlic rice bowl with egg that
01:10 we just couldn't resist trying.
01:11 Let us know if there are any essential Asheville restaurants we missed.
