Padel tennis craze takes UK by storm
James Jones discusses the popularity of Padel tennis at new courts opened at Tonbridge Golf Centre.

00:00 It was my wife's idea. We've got a place in Portugal that we go to frequently and she said that
00:05 she thinks it'd be a great idea for us to get paddle tennis at the golf centre. So that's what
00:13 we did. Part of the plan was to offer the community more chances to exercise, well-being, that sort of
00:19 thing. You know, we've got the Adventure Golf over there that is, again, for all ages. Everybody loves
00:26 a bit of crazy golf. So when you come here you've just got more opportunities to be entertained.
00:34 You know what, as you get a bit older you do actually try and look at sports to try and keep fit.
00:39 You know, what can you do to keep yourself active? And yeah, we found that as a group, as
00:44 like a bunch of mates, it's good to keep fitness going. It literally came on. Obviously a lot of us
00:49 play golf so we saw this being built, inquired about it. As soon as it came on we were like,
00:54 "Right, let's give it a go." And that's it. None of us play tennis actually.
00:57 So yeah, it's amazing actually. None of us actually play tennis but all of us play this.
01:02 Yeah, it's good. Good group together. I first played in Lanzarote. So I played out there and
01:08 this hadn't been built then. So I could almost, when we was playing out there, it was like, "Well,
01:12 this is awesome." And then when they had it here it was like, "Well, perfect." And you can see why
01:17 it's fast growing. You don't need to be massively fit. No, I think you can, yeah, you can be of
01:22 any fitness levels I reckon and just play. You don't have to charge around like we do. But yeah.
