00:03 OK.
00:11 So after I pour my glass of wine,
00:12 today we are making bolognese, which
00:14 is the easiest Italian dish, but it takes a long time to cook.
00:19 And the first thing we're doing is frying some bacon,
00:21 obviously.
00:22 And then in that fat, you're going to fry your meat.
00:26 All right.
00:26 So that's it.
00:27 Everything goes straight into the slow cooker from here.
00:30 We go in with three cloves of chopped garlic, half an onion,
00:34 carrots, generous pinch of salt, pepper, a little parsley,
00:39 tomato paste, and a 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes,
00:46 some dried oregano.
00:48 And crush it with your fingers to release that oil.
00:51 About the same amount of dried thyme.
00:53 A little bit of red wine, because why not?
00:56 A little bit of heavy cream, and a little bit
00:58 of fresh chopped basil.
01:01 Now to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes,
01:03 my grandmother always taught me to add a little bit of sugar.
01:07 Give it a stir.
01:09 All right, that's it.
01:10 Put a lid on it.
01:10 Cook it for six hours on low.
01:13 And when you get home, you're going
01:14 to have the most amazing bolognese.
01:16 Our pasta is ready.
01:17 And now our sauce.
01:19 And now is where it gets even better.
01:21 A little more parsley and some Romano
01:24 that I'm just going to grate on top, a little fresh basil.
01:28 Who wouldn't want this for dinner?
01:29 The perfect bite.
