00:00 It's hard to overstate what a figure Oscar Pistorius was in the world's eye.
00:05 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at the most infamous celebrities who will be
00:09 released from prison within the next 10 or so years.
00:12 Shug may have actually dismissed his attorney and is thinking of representing himself.
00:15 Is that accurate?
00:16 Jared Fogle.
00:19 Investigators looked at nearly 160,000 text messages,
00:23 more than 47,000 images, and more than 3,300 videos.
00:29 For a while there, Jared Fogle was the literal face of Subway.
00:32 While attending university, Fogle lost nearly 250 pounds eating Subway sandwiches.
00:38 He was made the company spokesman in 2000 and remained with them for 15 years.
00:43 But that's when the controversy started.
00:45 The FBI began looking into Fogle and uncovered a series of crimes,
00:50 to which Fogle eventually pled guilty.
00:52 He now is sentenced to more than 15 and a half years in prison.
00:57 That's more than even the prosecution asked for.
01:00 He received 15 years in prison and is spending his time in Colorado's
01:04 federal correctional institution, Englewood.
01:07 Fogle is currently up for release on March 24,
01:10 2029, that being his earliest possible release date with good behavior.
01:14 He has to have monitors on his phones, on his computers,
01:18 on all his electronic devices for the rest of his life.
01:22 Therapy for the rest of his life.
01:24 Also a $175,000 fine.
01:28 Amy Locaine
01:29 This actress found some success in the early 90s,
01:35 appearing in movies like Crybaby and School Ties.
01:38 Unfortunately, tragedy struck in June 2010,
01:41 when a speeding Locaine crashed into another car in New Jersey
01:44 and killed a woman named Helene Seaman.
01:46 Authorities proved that Locaine was inebriated,
01:49 with a blood alcohol level three times the legal amount.
01:52 She was convicted of vehicular homicide and given three years in prison.
01:56 "She served a full sentence of about three years,
01:59 but unless she is saved by appeal, she will serve more."
02:02 Too lenient? Well, the court agreed.
02:04 Locaine's case was revisited following her release in 2015,
02:08 prompting a years-long legal battle that stretched into 2020.
02:12 In September of that year, Locaine was resentenced to a further eight years.
02:16 She must serve at least six,
02:18 meaning she'll be eligible for parole around 2027.
02:22 "I drove home while I was intoxicated,
02:25 and the consequences were devastating."
02:31 Darren Sharper
02:32 "Darren Sharper was one of the best players of the past decade in the NFL.
02:36 Now he's facing, now he's in jail for numerous sexual assault charges."
02:39 Between 1997 and 2010, Darren Sharper was a highly successful NFL safety,
02:45 playing for the Packers, Vikings, and Saints,
02:48 winning the Super Bowl with the latter.
02:50 But almost immediately after his retirement,
02:52 allegations began to surface accusing Sharper of sexual crimes against numerous women.
02:57 These allegations continued until 2014,
02:59 when he was finally arrested on charges of sexual assault.
03:03 "Sharper appearing to, agreeing I should say,
03:06 to multiple plea deals nine years behind bars."
03:09 This arrest kick-started a lengthy and complex legal battle,
03:12 with various prosecutions occurring in multiple states.
03:15 It ended with Sharper pleading guilty and being sentenced to 20 years in prison.
03:19 He's currently serving time in the Federal Correctional Institution, Miami,
03:23 and will be released in 2028.
03:26 "His lawyer said he's expected to serve a little less than nine years
03:29 with no chance of early release,
03:30 and all of his sentences, when they eventually happen,
03:33 will be served at the same time."
03:35 Jen Shah
03:36 "How did you find out what she was doing? Like for real?"
03:39 "For real, I, honestly, she, she told me."
03:42 Hailing from Utah,
03:44 Jen Shah found both success and fame on Bravo's
03:47 "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City."
03:49 The show began in November 2020,
03:51 but Shah didn't have long to enjoy her newfound celebrity.
03:54 "Don't you have an opinion? You're a smart woman,
03:56 you have an opinion of what's right and what's wrong."
03:59 Just four months later, in March 2021,
04:02 Shah was charged with money laundering and wire fraud,
04:05 with the charges stemming from a telemarketing scheme
04:07 that Shah used to scam elderly individuals.
04:10 She pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud,
04:13 and was given six and a half years in prison.
04:15 Her sentence began in February 2023,
04:18 meaning she will be out by late 2029.
04:21 "There's a sense of relief that I'm going to be able to
04:24 put the past behind me and finally start truly healing."
04:29 Julie Chrisley
04:30 Fraud is a very serious crime,
04:32 and it seems like many celebrities are finding that out the hard way.
04:36 Julie Chrisley and her husband Todd starred in the USA Network's
04:39 "Chrisley Knows Best,"
04:40 which followed the day-to-day lives of the rich real estate couple.
04:44 "Come on, Julie."
04:45 "Julie."
04:46 "You."
04:47 "You."
04:48 "Were."
04:49 "Were."
04:49 "Right."
04:50 "Oh, that'll never happen."
04:52 Their luxurious lifestyle was a major draw to the series,
04:55 and as it turns out, was mostly the result of bank fraud.
04:58 In June 2022, both Julie and Todd were found guilty of the crime,
05:03 as they were defrauding various banks in order to fund their extravagant lives.
05:07 But yesterday, a federal jury found them guilty on all charges in their fraud case.
05:12 Prosecutors say Todd and Julie took out $30 million
05:15 in fraudulent bank loans to fund their lavish lifestyle.
05:19 Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received seven.
05:23 She will remain inside until 2030.
05:26 "Anybody who has to face something like this is going to take it hard,
05:30 but they're ultimately optimistic about the chances to appeal and to get out of prison
05:34 much more soon than their sentences would suggest."
05:37 Gary Glitter
05:38 Best known for Rock and Roll Parts 1 and 2,
05:40 Gary Glitter has faced a number of serious charges in recent years,
05:44 including sexual abuse.
05:45 "As the judge handed down the 16-year prison sentence,
05:49 there was no emotion from Gary Glitter."
05:51 Glitter has been in and out of prison, including a three-year stint in Vietnam,
05:56 and in 2015, he was sentenced to 16 years in a British prison.
06:00 "As Gary Glitter arrived for sentencing today, gone were both the glamour and the rock."
06:05 However, he only served half of this sentence and was released in February 2023.
06:10 Once again, Glitter was free, but this newfound freedom lasted only a month.
06:14 Glitter quickly broke his license conditions and was sent back to prison,
06:18 presumably to serve the rest of his sentence.
06:20 If so, he will be released again around 2031.
06:24 "His defense team claim Glitter is a very different man now,
06:28 after seeking professional help."
06:30 Elizabeth Holmes
06:31 "There's only one thing you need to know about Elizabeth Holmes.
06:34 She's a fraud, Richard. She's always been a fraud."
06:37 One of the most notorious fraudsters in recent memory, Elizabeth Holmes ran Theranos,
06:41 a private health company that made a revolutionary blood-testing machine.
06:45 However, the technology behind this machine quickly came under public scrutiny,
06:49 and investigators proved that it was all a giant scam.
06:52 "Theranos was on the brink of collapse.
06:55 Big-name investors found their stock was worthless."
06:57 The machines did not work as advertised,
07:00 and Holmes had stolen hundreds of millions of dollars from investors.
07:03 She was convicted of fraud and sentenced to just over 11 years in prison.
07:07 However, federal officials claimed that she would likely be released
07:11 two years early owing to good behavior.
07:13 Her release date is set for December 29, 2032.
07:17 "Elizabeth Holmes, who was sentenced to 11 and a half years in prison,
07:20 will now spend just over nine years in prison."
07:23 Shannon Richardson
07:24 This actress found a modicum of success on shows like The Walking Dead
07:27 and The Vampire Diaries.
07:29 She wasn't a household name by any means,
07:31 but she became one after mailing poison to Barack Obama.
07:35 "This person sent ricin, which is toxic and deadly,
07:39 to the President of the United States of America, let alone other figures."
07:43 In 2013, Richardson mailed a series of letters that were laced with ricin,
07:47 the poison made popular on Breaking Bad.
07:50 These letters were addressed to prominent politicians,
07:52 including President Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
07:56 "She said, 'I never intended for anybody to be hurt.
07:58 I'm not a bad person. I don't have it in me to hurt anyone.
08:02 I do love my country and I respect my president.'"
08:05 At the time, Richardson was going through a divorce
08:07 and attempted to frame her ex-husband Nathan,
08:10 telling police that he mailed the letters.
08:12 However, an investigation proved this was false.
08:15 Richardson was sentenced to 18 years in prison,
08:18 but will be released early in November 2028.
08:21 "Now, when it's a right-winger who doesn't want their quote-unquote guns taken away,
08:24 what do you mean?
08:25 'Mary Shannon Giffords Richardson.' I guess, I don't know. I don't know.
08:29 Never heard of her.'"
08:30 Josh Duggar
08:31 "Josh Duggar and his family are portrayed as a picture of wholesome perfection.
08:36 Now, the show has been pulled."
08:37 TLC had a huge hit with 19 Kids and Counting,
08:40 a reality show following Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar and their, well, 19 kids.
08:45 The eldest is Josh Duggar, who was featured prominently throughout the series.
08:49 But controversy has followed Duggar throughout his life,
08:52 much of it related to sexual abuse.
08:54 "Josh was given a very stern talk by the officer, but no charges were filed.
08:59 More than a decade later, In Touch magazine would blow the lid off the scandal."
09:05 Once again, we will not get into specifics owing to the sensitive nature of the crimes,
09:09 but they were bad enough to attract the attention of Homeland Security.
09:13 Following a federal investigation,
09:14 Duggar was arrested by U.S. Marshals on April 29, 2021.
09:19 He was later sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison,
09:21 and could be released in October 2032.
09:24 "We respect the jury's verdict and we look forward to continuing this fight on appeal.
09:28 We have no more comment at this time."

09:44 Suge Knight - Co-founder of Death Row Records,
09:48 Suge Knight played an enormous role in the popularization of gangster rap,
09:52 releasing acclaimed albums like The Chronic, Doggystyle, and All Eyes on Me.
09:56 Yet despite the influence on pop culture, controversy has long followed Knight,
10:06 including a history of violence and relentless legal troubles.
10:09 These culminated in January 2015, when Knight hit two men with his truck in Compton, California.
10:15 "Suge Knight was lured to this hamburger stand and then was ambushed there. He said he thought
10:21 by three men who were known gang members."
10:23 Filmmaker Clee Sloan suffered serious injuries, and record executive Terry Carter was killed.
10:29 Knight pled no contest to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
10:34 He will become eligible for parole in October 2034 and will be 69 years old.
