00:00 We finally got to see a little romance in this film,
00:02 which I like very much.
00:04 They tease you and Zendaya kissing in the trailer.
00:06 - I'd very much like to be equal to you.
00:09 - Maybe I'll show you the way.
00:10 - I know you guys are friends, really friends.
00:16 What is it about her that makes it so natural?
00:19 Or is it when you have to kiss her, is it natural?
00:23 - I mean, within the scope of the movie it is,
00:27 within the scope of the character's relationship,
00:29 but I don't want to just give you a boring answer.
00:31 I mean, it's not weird in the scope of the movie,
00:33 but we have a joke, I mean, I don't want to say the word
00:35 here, because, you know, but it's just like,
00:37 it's in another nature, it's weird as hell,
00:41 because we're so close platonically,
00:44 so it's just the strangest part of the job.
00:46 - Listen, I'm with you, because I was like,
00:48 well, I know they're like homegirl and homeboy,
00:51 so even though you're actors,
00:52 and you're the consummate actors,
00:53 I still would feel like, man, I gotta kiss Zendaya today.
00:57 - No, it's strange, it's super strange.
00:57 - Yeah, but I also don't want to say that either, you know.
01:00 In the scope of the movie, it's totally what is happening.
01:05 But, no, I'm also like, I feel like we are so tight now,
01:10 it really is just like another day at work.
01:11 I don't know what that says about the nature of our jobs,
01:13 but it's just another day at work.
01:15 - You have us all in a chokehold now,
01:18 saying we've been saying this man's name wrong,
01:20 we've been saying--
01:21 - No, no, no, you mean based on last night?
01:24 - Yes, it's, so it is Timotei.
01:27 It's supposed to be, but I would never hold anyone to that.
01:30 - Your mama named you--
01:31 - Did anyone ever call you that?
01:32 - In France, they call me that.
01:36 - Like your mom never called you that as a kid?
01:39 - No, no.
01:40 - Okay, so your mama didn't call,
01:41 'cause I was like, if his mama calls him Timotei,
01:43 we need to be calling him Timotei.
01:45 - No, it's all good, it can be whatever.
01:47 - Okay.
01:48 - Thank you, though.
01:49 - But if you have that respect for me,
01:50 you gotta be calling him Austine.
01:52 - Austine. - That's correct.
01:53 - It's Austine.
01:53 - My guy, Austine.
01:56 - 'Cause the dot above the eye.
01:57 - The two dots.
01:58 (laughing)
01:59 - It's been a while since you've had one of those nightmares.
02:03 Tell me, what was it about?
02:05 - It's only fragments.
02:08 Nothing's clear.
02:14 - So go with me for a second on this journey,
02:17 because when I was watching the film,
02:18 like the whole cast is captivating,
02:20 but when I'm thinking about the core four,
02:22 you, you two, and Zendaya, and Florence,
02:25 I felt like I was watching this generation's Brat Pack.
02:28 Like I really did.
02:30 And I mean, I know, I don't know if you guys get that.
02:32 I mean, maybe it's just because it's
02:34 young Hollywood power players,
02:36 you all seem to be like homeboys and homegirls outside of it.
02:39 Do you see where like that could kind of correlate?
02:42 (laughing)
02:45 - My thing is, okay, I should obviously know more.
02:48 Like, but were Brat Pack like partiers or not?
02:51 - I knew, well, a little bit.
02:53 - See, like, we're like-- - But that was the day.
02:54 - I know, that was the day.
02:56 That's where the comparison dies, in my opinion,
02:59 'cause I feel like I haven't seen any youth party at all.
03:03 No, I'm kidding. - We're tame.
03:04 - Yeah, we're so tame.
03:05 - It's cool to be surrounded by people of a similar age
03:08 who care a lot and who work really hard
03:11 and whose work is very inspiring, you know?
03:15 And then to be able to go through the process together
03:18 is a great experience. - Yeah.
03:20 - Agreed. - Yeah, it's cool.
03:21 And y'all go toe to toe in this film.
03:24 Y'all do not play around.
03:26 Was anybody close to injury during combat training?
03:28 - I would say probably more me.
03:30 - Yeah? - Yeah.
03:31 I don't wanna give too much away
03:33 by the nature of the fight in the movie,
03:34 but there was definitely one day that--
03:37 - It was just that one throw.
03:39 - Did you bulk up a little bit for this?
03:40 I felt like you did.
03:41 I was watching, I was like, I think he bulked up a little.
03:43 What did you do?
03:44 - Just lifted heavy things. - Yeah.
03:46 - And I ate a lot.
03:46 - And then you lifted heavy things, and ate a lot.
03:49 - Lots of roids. - Yeah.
03:51 - Timothee. - You just started
03:52 rumors today. - Yeah, sorry.
03:54 - Timothee, Timothee.
03:55 What do people call you?
03:56 Do they call you Tim, or do they--
03:57 - No, Tim's the one, red zone.
04:00 - Okay. - You put your foot down.
04:00 - I put my foot down there.
04:02 - No Tim. - Another mistake I made once.
04:03 - Yeah. - Yeah.
04:04 (laughing)
04:05 - No, I'm kidding.
04:06 - What do they call, it's just Timothy, usually.
04:07 - Yeah, Timothy, Timmy, Mardee,
04:09 Lysanne Al-Gaib, Paul Atreides,
04:11 Willy Wonka. - Come on, Paul Atreides.
04:12 Come on, Willy Wonka, come on.
04:13 - Yeah, exactly, yeah, yeah.
04:15 - Send assassins.
04:16 - Fader, Arthur, he's psychotic.
04:23 - I can't get your stare out of my head from this film.
04:26 Like, and then the way you look.
04:28 I mean, it's a complete 180
04:30 from what we've ever seen you do.
04:31 How long do you spend in the makeup chair,
04:33 and when you first, for the first time,
04:35 when you turned in that mirror and looked,
04:37 I remember talking to you about how you felt
04:39 when you put the Elvis outfit on,
04:40 but when you turn and look at yourself, what's that like?
04:43 - Yeah, so it's three hours in the hair and makeup chair,
04:47 and it started at about five,
04:49 'cause it's really meticulous,
04:50 but they're the best makeup team in the world,
04:52 and they attached the cap, like, right above my eyelids,
04:56 so you gotta be really, you can't be a millimeter off,
05:00 'cause you can't open your eye.
05:01 So, yeah, so that was why it took so long in the chair,
05:06 and the first time that I saw it, I didn't see myself,
05:10 and that's the greatest gift that you can have.
05:12 - Yeah, licking the knife, good stuff.
05:15 - Oh, thank you. - Really good stuff.
05:16 Was that actually in the script, or were you like,
05:19 let me just put a little sauce on it?
05:20 - No, that wasn't in the script.
05:22 - Ste?
05:23 - It was Austin being Austin.
05:24 - That's just me.
05:25 - That's Austin being Austin.
05:27 - That's Austin being me, exactly.
05:28 (laughing)
05:30 - So, okay, so what was in your head at that time?
05:33 Where did that go?
05:34 - You know, you try so many different things,
05:37 and little quirks of the character,
05:40 and this was one where there was so many possibilities,
05:45 and in certain moments, it's always how you try
05:50 to affect the other people on the scene,
05:51 and affect this other person that you're working with,
05:55 and so it sort of came off this moment
05:59 of looking that guy in the eyes,
06:01 and then just, it felt right in that moment.
06:03 - It was right, it was right.
06:06 Something else that was really right,
06:07 whoever the marketing team for this movie
06:10 was genius with this popcorn bucket.
