00:00 Outside of Mike Tomlin, maybe Art Rooney probably.
00:03 I'm not many people had the thought of.
00:06 Everybody's gung ho.
00:07 Kenny Bickett should be the guy in 2024 at the end of the season.
00:11 Did you have different thoughts and hearing that there is some internal division, especially
00:15 the things we've talked about this offseason?
00:18 I mean, does this does this shock you at all?
00:20 And how how how divided do you think things are?
00:24 Well, this doesn't really shock me at all that that there is a group of there's a part
00:29 of the Steelers organization that really believes in Mason Rudolph.
00:32 I mean, he's earned that belief.
00:34 He played well over this final four games.
00:36 And I think he deserves if he stays in Pittsburgh as much as a chance to start as anyone.
00:40 But I think we're also kind of overplaying the extent to which Kenny Pickett is like
00:44 when they say preferred starter going into doing air quotes, preferred starter going
00:47 into training camp.
00:48 Like, what does that really mean?
00:50 You know, like, does he take the first QB one reps?
00:53 Like maybe.
00:54 But I think as time wears on, like it's not like the Steelers would sacrifice any of their
01:00 long term success or or give him, I think, preferential treatment if he wasn't playing
01:04 well.
01:05 And I think that's the thing that people are a little hung up on when they hear that, you
01:10 know, Kenny Pickett enters training camp or enters the offseason is QB one.
01:13 I think they assume that means that he's going to be the opening day starter.
01:16 And that doesn't necessarily mean that.
01:19 So you know, I'm not shocked that that people like Mason Rudolph and want him to get a chance
01:23 as well.
01:24 And I think he will, though.
01:25 And I think, you know, that's so this report doesn't really shock me much, especially because
01:32 as I think Ben points out in his article, Mason Deontay Johnson at least said at the
01:37 end of the season that he would prefer Mason Rudolph as a starter over Kenny Pickett.
01:41 And I don't.
01:43 So this doesn't really surprise me at all.
01:45 But I also think this just kind of plays into what we already knew, which is that, you know,
01:49 Kenny's going to get a chance.
01:50 Mason's going to get a chance.
01:52 And I don't read much into how we're ordering quarterbacks in February on February 19th
01:58 with training camp still what, three months away more than that or five months away.
02:03 Yeah, right.
02:04 Yeah.
02:05 So I don't put a whole lot of stock into that right now.
02:08 And to say that there's a contingent of the Steelers that believe in Mason and want him
02:12 to start doesn't really surprise me at all.
