00:00 >> [INAUDIBLE]
00:10 >> Just be myself, just come out and
00:14 be aggressive.
00:15 I have to show my versatility and just do all the little things.
00:18 I was gonna be for some and do what I can do and then offense it'll come so.
00:22 >> What happened there to start the third quarter obviously,
00:27 you guys not only made shots but put the clamps on.
00:32 >> Yeah, I mean, we just try to come out aggressive in the second half and
00:35 try to get things going.
00:36 Obviously, a shot started to fall and
00:38 we had to pick up the pace defensively and we did a good job of that.
00:41 >> Can you talk about how y'all build off a win like this,
00:45 y'all kind of trained blows back and forth and you guys ended up victorious?
00:50 >> Just keep going, I mean, this is only one game, obviously,
00:53 we have a bigger goal in mind.
00:54 So it's obvious to the next game and just keep going from there,
00:58 just win by win and just keep stacking.
00:59 >> Did that feel a little bit like playoff basketball?
01:03 >> I don't know, I ain't never been to playoff, so I guess.
01:07 >> [LAUGH] >> It felt a little better than
01:13 playing basketball for sure.
01:14 >> Coach talked a lot about how you guys, how this Mavericks team has more depth
01:19 than they've had in a really long time and you and Gaffer,
01:22 what does it feel like to be a part of the team that has so
01:26 much depth in the way you guys have been rolling out winning seven straight?
01:31 >> Feels great, I mean, we have a lot of guys that are very good and
01:34 everybody's on the same page.
01:35 So, I mean, the main goal for us is just to win games and
01:38 you can tell coming out and playing, everybody's for each other.
01:40 Everybody has the right mindset and everybody's locked in.
01:43 So when you get that, you get wins and obviously, we just gotta keep it going.
01:48 >> BJ, Luka is such a unique talent, what are you learning about how you have to
01:53 play with him?
01:55 >> He makes the game easy, obviously draws so much attention.
01:58 A lot of double teams, a lot of guys running at him, so he just makes it easy
02:02 pass and it's pretty much just trickles down for everybody else.
02:05 So, yes, a unique skill set, we haven't really seen a guy like him.
02:09 So, obviously playing with him has just been great so far for me.
02:12 >> You guys are doing a lot of shading, switching, rotating.
02:16 How does your defensive profile set up to be good at that?
02:20 And how much does this team just have a bunch of players who are good at that and
02:23 kind of makes that defense make sense?
02:26 >> I think it's very well, I mean, we have two really good shot blockers and
02:30 Gaff and D-Live.
02:32 So that made the game easy for us on the perimeter just to switch and
02:36 be aggressive out there and try to force the ball into them.
02:38 And make people take tough shots and I think we did a great job of that.
02:43 Obviously, we have a lot of guys that can switch and stay in front of the ball.
02:45 So it makes us a really good team defensively.
02:48 >> When you guys do go find out with Maxine, obviously,
02:51 also very capable of switching, has some shot blocking.
02:55 Do you have a defender, do you have to kind of change your mindset or
02:58 at least just be aware that you are trying to do different things because it's
03:02 different personnel?
03:04 >> Not really, I mean, it's kind of the same concepts.
03:07 For me, I'm switching with everybody.
03:08 So I just gotta be aggressive and just listen to the person behind me is calling.
03:13 And I just try to be in the right spot.
03:15 Maxie's done a great job.
03:16 I don't think anything is different when he's out there anyway.
03:18 So he's able to switch and it makes us even better defensively, honestly.
03:22 >> PJ, Jason mentioned you all keeping your mental in the heart of the battle,
03:27 even playing basketball since you were a game high.
03:29 What do you tell yourself personally when your emotions are high in the game?
03:33 >> I mean, at the end of the day for me, it's just a basketball game.
03:35 So I can't let emotions or anything outside of that get to me.
03:39 For me, it's just trying to win the game and
03:41 win zero-zeros on the clock if the job's finished.
03:43 So as long as we're up and we're all good.
03:46 >> PJ, this team is on a seven game winning streak.
03:49 You've been part of the last four.
03:51 What would you like to see sustained from this winning streak as y'all go on the road?
03:57 >> Our defense has to be there every night.
04:00 So you can't win games without defense, obviously.
04:02 And we're playing our butts off on that end, and it's been great for us.
04:07 And the offense will be there.
04:08 There's not a lot of teams.
04:09 I don't think there's any teams that can guard us.
04:11 So us is just the defense.
04:13 >> Do you remember the last time winning four games in a row?
04:16 >> No.
04:17 [LAUGH] I was just telling somebody in the locker room,
04:22 I think this is the longest winning streak I've ever had in my career.
04:24 So I'm just happy to be here.
