Celebration at 6 Bells allotments in Farnham as the council have help to fund and put up a new metal fence. Farnham town council officers and allotment holders celebrated the secure fence hosting a lunchtime social event with tea and cakes. After deer, thieves and vandalism plagued the allotments much improved security was needed to keep peoples produce safe. Prior to the new fence being installed the allotments had a 2 foot fence that did little to deter deer or thieves.

Site representative Tony Dean "This event today was really just to say thank you to Farnham town council for supporting us and local councillors who have put their weight behind it"

Allotment holders will now continue their work supporting local charities and growing produce for themselves and food banks. Tony Dean said "hopefully now with secure fence we have got more produce to share"

00:00 Hi I'm Matt Brown, I'm the lead environmental lead for Woking Town Council and I just want to
00:04 thank the allotment holders and the Farnham Town Council officers for a cracking job putting up
00:10 a fence which will hopefully stop any more vandalism and theft. This event today we've got
00:15 a lot of plot holders here, been baking cakes and things like that and it's really just to say
00:19 thank you to Farnham Town Council for supporting us and to local councillors who have put their
00:24 weight behind our request as well. So we did it over two weekends with the help of all the
00:29 allotment holders and it worked really well. The guys got fed and coffee and we all had a
00:34 jolly good fun doing it. We're wanting to turn this really into the best allotment site on in
00:40 Farnham now. Hopefully now with the secure fence we've got more produce to share.
