00:00 Eyes on the prize. Maidstone boss Georgie Lakobi is still in his first full season at
00:07 Maidstone United and keeping his feet firmly on the ground despite all the hype.
00:12 We deserve to be in the fifth round of the FA Cup, how we've gone about it as a group,
00:17 as a community. I know everyone is saying luck, yes luck does play a part but also it's
00:24 that togetherness and that belief that we've instilled in this environment and hopefully
00:30 we're going to go on Monday against a good side in Conventry and we're going to try and
00:34 compete and showcase ourselves as a community, not just as a team.
00:39 Maidstone United's historic win over Championship side Ipswich was an amalgamation of what had
00:44 already been a fantastic run in the FA Cup this season. Now set to face another Championship
00:50 side in the final, 16, it's understandable why a sense of belief just might be hanging
00:56 in the air.
00:57 It's just something different than what this club is used to. Long may it continue, hope
01:03 we do get through or get a win or even a replay. We just want it to continue as long as possible
01:09 because it's putting Maidstone on the map.
01:14 Just a few training sessions left now before the big day. It's not lost on these men just
01:19 how incredible their achievement is.
01:21 I saw the picture the other day with all the teams remaining and to think we're actually
01:25 competing to get into the quarter-finals. Who would have thought that a National League
01:29 South team competing for their FA Cup quarter-finals. Incredible. You've got to believe a little
01:36 bit from what we've done but it's going to be a very tough ask but you have to believe,
01:42 have to believe, have to.
01:43 I'm enjoying every moment of it. It's a memory that I'll probably never forget in my lifetime.
01:53 So I've just got to enjoy every single moment of it. We haven't had easy teams. They haven't
01:58 made it easy for us with the games that we've had. We've had them at home, which obviously
02:04 at home were pretty decent. But we've had EFL teams that are all flying in their league
02:10 at the time. So it's been difficult but luckily we've got the job done and we've got this
02:15 far so we'll see what we can do to keep it going.
02:18 Standing here with this iconic piece of silverware, Maidstone's dream is tangible. On Monday they
02:24 take on yet another giant in the form of Coventry City and all that's left to do is write another
02:30 chapter in this remarkable story.
