00:00 When Shane Marsh was checking on his calving cows last weekend he found an unexpected gift.
00:07 The four year old mother had produced a rare miracle.
00:17 But one in a hundred and five thousand pregnancies conceive triplets. Since these have been born
00:24 I've had a lot of people tell me they've seen or heard of people that have had triplets
00:29 but they don't get them all to survive.
00:32 Cows don't always accept twin calves, sometimes rejecting the weakest. So her acceptance of
00:39 all three is extraordinary.
00:41 She wasn't assisted at all, had the three of them one after the other and just cleaned
00:47 them up like normal and took them all immediately, there was no hesitation.
00:52 One week on the two sisters and their brother are thriving.
00:56 The night before she calved we were joking about her having triplets.
01:01 While to Shane she's just cow number S53, his daughter calls her Angel.
01:07 And then the little bull's name is Volt and then the tan one is Violet and the little
01:12 black heifer is Viola.
01:14 All starting with the letter V to identify the year of birth. Shane is quietly thrilled
01:20 with the special birth.
01:21 It shows a lot of work I put into breeding as many cattle as I can, so yeah very proud
01:26 of it.
01:27 She may be an angel but
01:29 Probably won't get a lot of special treatment, she'll go in her own paddock, probably with
01:33 others that have twins.
01:34 Tough love for a miracle mum.
