Coach says Tyson has always been a good leader
Transcript
00:00 We just heard from Jalen Sellestine and Jalen Tyson.
00:03 I'm going to correct a couple of things I heard.
00:07 You know, it's true, we have a kind of a two hour, three hour long team meeting right after
00:13 Pac-12 started.
00:14 And Jalen Tyson was pretty hard on himself through this podium about 30 seconds ago.
00:19 So I'll just, I want to expound a little bit on Jalen Tyson.
00:23 Jalen Tyson holds himself to an incredibly high standard.
00:26 He's an outstanding teammate, an outstanding teammate.
00:30 And he has just been someone who, you know, and I feel bad singling out one guy, but I
00:35 feel the need to based on, you know, kind of a couple of things that he said, but he
00:39 has been a fantastic leader.
00:43 I've been incredibly impressed with him on and off the court, taking teammates to dinner,
00:48 being a glue guy in the locker room, helping younger players, pushing guys.
00:55 He's been outstanding.
00:56 And so everyone on the team has been outstanding in terms of locker room.
01:00 And we've been through some ups and downs, but I just wanted to get that out there from
01:03 my perspective as the head coach of what I see.
01:06 Obviously, 27.0 turnovers with the ball in your hand a lot.
01:10 That's a great game.
01:11 But we had a lot of guys step up.
01:13 I was proud of Fardos, just rebounding the ball down there, controlling the glass, playing
01:17 really good defense.
01:19 Keontae Kennedy probably had the assist of the game.
01:22 You know, Oregon, they play some tough defense and they were in a zone and Keontae drove
01:27 it, got to a two foot jump stop and skipped it cross court to Jalen Cone who nailed a
01:32 three.
01:33 And so I'm just proud of everybody and thank you for being here, guys.
