00:22 Mariel Padilla answered the issue.

00:24 I had no intention whatsoever to disrespect the Senate or anything like that.

00:33 It was never in my intention. I was in my husband's office.

00:38 It was never my intention to offend you,

00:44 to make you not respectable to the Senate. No, of course not.

00:51 She was also cleared for vitamin C and not glutathione.

00:55 She was also watched by a professional nurse.

00:57 However, based on the FDA's abuse,

01:00 the use of vitamin C injection was not safe

01:03 because it can cause kidney stones if the tissue it will be injected with is acidic.

01:09 This IV drip procedure was first done by Senate Ethics Committee Chairperson,

01:13 Senator Nancy Binay, who was not abused in the Senate's clinic.

01:17 Earlier, Mariel's husband, Senator Robin Padilla,

01:21 sent a letter to Senate President Migs Ubiri and Senator Binay to ask for a pardon.

01:26 He said that they will never do anything to disrespect the Senate's symbol,

01:31 and that they will always be respectful to its rules.

01:35 Binay accepted Padilla's request for a dispensation.

01:38 But if there is a formal complaint,

01:41 the Ethics Committee will still investigate what Mariel did.

01:44 Padilla also wrote to the Sergeant at Arms and the Medical Bureau Director of the Senate to ask for a dispensation.

01:49 They also said that they will not let the Senate's rules be neglected by those who have a house.

01:54 The Senate is hopeful that this will not happen again.
