00:09 So Frank and Claire, we're here at Sheffield Golf Club. You've won a recent award.
00:15 Yes, we're very, very proud.
00:17 Tell us more about it.
00:18 Well, we put on the England Girls Under 16, Under 14 Championships last August.
00:25 It's run by England Golf and we were really proud to host the competition.
00:31 And as a result, we won Venue of the Year, which we were so thrilled and very proud of our club.
00:37 Very proud.
00:38 How many are you up against?
00:40 70.
00:41 There's 70, yeah, 70 venues.
00:43 70 different venues.
00:44 Was there any more from Tropshire?
00:47 No, we got into the final three and we thought, wow, final three, that's amazing.
00:55 And when they called out our name on the stage, we were just blown away, weren't we?
01:00 We really weren't expecting it.
01:01 How was the evening itself?
01:03 Very good. Centenary of the England Golf as well.
01:07 Held at the hotel where the first meeting that set England Golf up was held 100 years ago.
01:13 450 people sitting down.
01:16 Lovely experience then.
01:17 Brilliant.
01:18 Very much so, yeah.
01:19 Brilliant.
01:20 Tell us, what does this mean for Sheffield Golf Club?
01:23 I think it recognises a lot of the work that our volunteers on that occasion did.
01:29 And also, it kind of showcases our course and our clubhouse, which is in superb condition.
01:37 We've got a thriving club, we've got 600 plus members, we've got a good ladies' section as well.
01:43 We're very, very competitive. We play with our surrounding clubs and also in all the leagues,
01:49 and scratch leagues and all of those sort of things.
01:52 It just kind of puts us on the map, I feel. It's a really good way of...
01:56 We want to be recognised as the best club in Tropshire.
02:00 Well, we've been here since 1964. The club's centenary is in '29.
02:08 Before that, it was on a little...
02:11 We had an iron hole course at the other end of Shiffnell, which is now a housing estate.
02:17 Claire, you mentioned about the volunteers. How many volunteers have you got here?
02:20 Well, we had, for this event, we had 60 volunteers from within the club.
02:26 We made a volunteer coordinator, and he made sure that everybody knew what they were doing,
02:31 what all the jobs were.
02:33 And it was everything from toilet duty to handing out beverages,
02:37 to taking scores, to car parking.
02:41 It just ran so well, and it was down to the volunteers.
02:45 Nobody shirked any jobs. There was no job too big or too small, and that really makes a difference.
02:52 And I think that was the thing that made England Golf give us that award.
02:56 award.
