00:00 French President Emmanuel Macron does not rule out Western troops on the ground in Ukraine
00:08 in the future. The issue was discussed at a gathering of over 20 European leaders in
00:13 Paris. The aim - to signal to Russia that support for Kyiv would not waver as the full-scale
00:19 invasion grinds into a third year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a video
00:25 speech calling on the leaders in Paris to ensure that Putin "cannot destroy our achievements
00:30 and cannot expand his aggression to other nations." Several leaders expressed support,
00:36 including Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, for buying ammunition outside the EU for Ukraine.
00:42 "This is a tech initiative to ramp up that particular stream of activity and at the same
00:48 time we have to work on the air defence system. Ukraine is in urgent need for more rockets
00:54 but also for more systems, be it SS-200, SS-300, P-GS and other systems."
01:21 The Paris conference comes after France, Germany and the UK recently signed 10-year bilateral
01:28 agreements with Ukraine to send a strong signal of long-term backing as Kyiv works to shore
01:33 up Western support.
