00:00 And that got me thinking, what type of receiver is Antoine Juice Wells?
00:05 What does he do really well?
00:07 How did his star rise?
00:09 Those are questions that Ole Miss fans are going to learn about
00:13 pretty much over the next eight months, but we'll start right here.
00:17 Juice Wells came from originally James Madison.
00:20 He went there for two years, was a standout performer,
00:24 transferred to South Carolina.
00:27 And has since transferred his last year to Ole Miss.
00:30 He had a really good year, even though the grade was a 71 in 2022 for
00:35 South Carolina, we'll talk about that in just a second.
00:38 His grade for 2023 was not as good.
00:42 And that was mainly because Juice Wells was injured,
00:46 he never could quite get right.
00:47 There was some animosity built up between, I don't know, South Carolina and him.
00:54 But he ended up trying to go someplace else to extend his career.
00:58 Now, the reason Antoine Wells broke out
01:02 was particularly two games in the 2022 season.
01:07 That was against Tennessee and against Clemson.
01:11 Those are the two stat lines that you see there.
01:14 Against Tennessee, it was 11 catches for
01:17 177 yards with a long of 36 against Clemson.
01:21 It was nine catches for 131 with two catches,
01:25 both of them averaging about 15 yards per catch.
01:28 It was really effective for him and was kind of his arrival party, for
01:33 lack of a better word, for him coming onto the scene as a real threat for
01:38 South Carolina's offense.
01:40 He's one of the real reasons that South Carolina preseason this year,
01:44 they were thought of pretty highly.
01:46 That was before you didn't realize they didn't have any linemen, but
01:50 that's beside the point.
01:52 A lot of it was Antoine Wells, Juice Wells, coming out and showing in his athletic
01:56 ability with some other players and Spencer Radler being a pretty good quarterback.
02:01 Now, if you look at where he does his damage,
02:06 that is the part that I want to bring to everybody's attention.
02:09 He had on this graph that I have, if you're watching on YouTube,
02:15 the first number is catches, the second number is targets.
02:19 So it'd be three catches out of four targets outside left.
02:23 But most of his damage is done right at the line of scrimmage in the middle
02:27 of the field.
