00:03 - I've seen all the talking heads give all their ideas
00:06 over the last couple of days.
00:08 It's a very tough thing to do,
00:10 but there's gotta be something done
00:11 'cause Filipowski gets hurt
00:13 in the process of it happening on Saturday.
00:15 - Yeah, I'm really happy that Kyle's not hurt badly.
00:18 And obviously, look what we would have missed
00:20 over the last month if Kaitlyn had been injured.
00:22 We would have missed her breaking
00:25 the career women's NCAA scoring record.
00:28 We would have missed her chasing Lynette Woodard
00:30 for the all-time major conference women's scoring record.
00:34 We would have missed her taking a shot
00:36 at another NCAA tournament in Final Four, et cetera.
00:39 And so, when I see,
00:43 I always remember Kenyon Martin
00:45 and how innocuous the collision he had
00:48 in the 2000 Conference USA tournament was
00:51 with an opponent from St. Louis,
00:53 and it turned out he broke his leg in two places.
00:56 And so, either one of these instances
00:58 could have produced something like that.
01:01 And we're fortunate, blessed, honestly,
01:03 that it didn't turn out that way.
01:06 So, I think the thing to do is you don't allow it to happen.
01:10 And it's not that hard to solve it.
01:13 In reality, they haven't been trying.
01:16 Even the fines are now, in the places where it is fined,
01:19 especially the SEC has a very high standard
01:24 for fines relative to court or field storming.
01:28 Even that is looked at as basically a marketing expense.
01:31 Hey, look how cool this place is when we win a big game.
01:35 So, I think the way to stop it is that if you storm the court,
01:40 there are serious consequences,
01:43 whether to the stormers or to the team,
01:45 and then it'll stop.
01:47 And my point always has been,
01:50 I'm huge on having fun at sporting events.
01:53 I do it myself.
01:54 I don't just cover them.
01:55 I am a fan of particular teams,
01:58 and I go to their games and I enjoy them.
02:00 But I don't need to be on the floor to enjoy them.
02:03 The fans at Allen Fieldhouse never storm,
02:06 and they have the best time.
02:08 Mackey Arena, same thing.
02:09 So, you can get away without storming the floor
02:13 and still have a fabulous night
02:15 when Wake Forest beats Duke,
02:16 or Ohio State women beat Caitlin Clark and Iowa women,
02:20 and on down the line.
