00:00 So actually my children have never watched Peppa Pig.
00:03 They've never seen it? They've never seen it.
00:05 You pre-screened it.
00:06 So I'm really selective over the shows that my children watch.
00:09 That doesn't look like the worst example.
00:11 No, and I think the show in itself has got lots of negative stereotypes
00:16 and lots and lots of negative behaviour.
00:18 Well, give us an example. We've seen one example there.
00:20 Give us one that you want.
00:21 So the dad is often considered to be, like, fat and lazy
00:25 and those words are used on the show
00:27 and it's not some language that I want my children to have in their vocabulary.
00:31 And I also don't want the show to give them any acceptance of those behaviours.
00:36 Isn't the good thing about a show like that,
00:38 if they do start calling Daddy fat or something like that,
00:41 that it's then a teachable moment to say,
00:44 "We don't talk to people like that."
00:46 And I think that's the good thing. I don't want to really shield my kids.
00:49 They're going to see this behaviour in real life
00:52 and I think that if their behaviour becomes something that I'm not happy with,
00:55 then they learn that he's not happy with that.
