00:00 This is my third time crying.
00:02 And I cried the other day.
00:06 I will smoke when I smoke, and I will liquor when I liquor.
00:09 Wendy, would you want to go to the Oscars?
00:11 What's Oscars?
00:12 In the documentary, it was revealed that she has dementia.
00:15 So I think they said it was alcohol-induced dementia.
00:18 What did you see while you were shooting?
00:20 It was a complex and sensitive journey,
00:22 because we did not know when we started that she had dementia.
00:26 And we were deeply concerned as we filmed.
00:29 I'm real makeup.
00:30 Look, even when I do this, do you see a thigh gap?
00:34 It was illuminating watching this, in that you say,
00:36 "Well, what in the hell is going on with guardianships?"
00:39 That's the thing that's interesting to us,
00:41 is that a legal guardianship is in place,
00:44 but there didn't seem to be a lot of guardianing.
00:47 And so this is the reality of a time span.
00:50 Did you want to wear your Chanel sweater,
00:51 or are you talking about your Chanel jewelry?
00:53 Please, go away.
00:55 And we know it's not easy for a lot of people to watch,
00:58 but once we were in it, we felt like we were more scared
01:02 about what would happen if we stopped filming
01:04 than if we continued.
01:06 [Crying]
01:07 Can you--can you please come? Please?
01:11 At the end, the guardian did arrange to take her
01:13 to a facility to get help.
01:15 Just one day before Lifetime premiered
01:17 "Where is Wendy Williams?"
01:18 the talk show host's care team released a statement
01:21 on her behalf, thanking fans for their overwhelming support.
01:25 Wendy's been in a wellness facility
01:27 that specializes in cognitive issues since last April.
01:31 With the spotlight on the star's health,
01:33 the question is, were there warning signs?
01:35 Do you want to start drinking?
01:37 No.
01:38 When you watched the documentary,
01:40 did you notice that you could see her declining
01:45 and the dementia setting in?
01:47 You see that she's getting more frail.
01:50 She's not making as much sense.
01:53 I haven't treated her, of course,
01:55 but what I would say is that some of the things
01:57 that she did probably killed off a lot of nerve cells
02:01 ahead of time.
02:03 Why don't we order in some liquor?
02:05 No.
02:06 We haven't been able to speak to her in, gosh,
02:08 over six months now since we stopped filming with her,
02:10 but the family has been speaking to her more regularly,
02:13 and they've shared that she does sound better.
02:16 She's excited about her future.
02:18 You know, she talks about the possibility
02:20 of getting back to work, but like I always remind her,
02:23 first and foremost is your health.
