00:00 We're announcing the start of a new campaign next week, starting on Monday,
00:04 to help parents protect their children from rising cases of childhood infectious diseases.
00:10 We're doing this looking through the eyes of the child and we want to support parents to
00:16 know what we know they want to do, which is protect their children.
00:19 We've seen just in the last few months, so since the start of October, we've now had 650 cases of
00:26 measles in England. So for many parents, I think they think this is a forgotten disease and it's a
00:31 very real threat. Many of these children will go to hospital, some of them may have lifetime
00:37 injuries and disabilities and very rarely a death will occur. And this is all coming on the back of
00:43 a gradual decrease in uptake of childhood vaccinations. And so we want to encourage that
00:49 and we want to get back to England having WHO-recognised levels, recommended levels of 95% coverage.
