00:03 >> Well, inevitably, college basketball rolls on and
00:06 on the women's side we have arguably what I would say is the most expensive game in
00:11 women's college basketball history coming up this week between Iowa and Ohio State.
00:17 I would ask you, Mike, I mean, this seems insane to have to buy a ticket for
00:22 $500 to see a regular season game in any sport, let alone women's basketball.
00:28 $500 to get in, $577 the average price, I'm not understanding this.
00:35 I mean, even when you've gone to Final Four games, you end up paying $200,
00:39 $300, $400, why is this so expensive?
00:43 >> Well, remember, Craig, this is secondary market.
00:45 This is not University of Iowa saying, hey, look,
00:48 Caitlin's really popular, so let's cash in.
00:50 This is what happens through the various secondary ticket sites, and
00:54 that's all driven by supply and demand.
00:57 So on the one side, you have the fan who would love to go but
01:01 can't because the price is so high.
01:03 But on the other side, you have the ticket holder who, if he or
01:07 she chooses, can cash in on this and make a big chunk of change.
01:11 And maybe pay for what has been their entire season ticket package, so
01:15 somebody else can pay $1,000 for their two seats.
01:18 So it's basically what the product of her grand popularity is,
01:26 her deserved popularity is.
01:28 And one of the reasons why the ticket prices are so high is because a lot of
01:33 the people who have loved her and loved watching her play aren't giving up
01:37 their tickets.
01:38 So there are few on the market, and few means the price goes up.
