Adelaide family celebrates extraordinary coincidence as they welcome their newborn son into a leap year
It is an added day every four years that exists to counter the fact that the earth’s orbit isn’t precisely 365 days a year. February 29th is already the rarest birthday to have and now one Adelaide family is celebrating an extraordinary coincidence, their newborn son shares a very special leap year birthday with his dad.

00:00 Baby Hugh joined the world at 9.04am on February 29th, on a leap year day that comes around

00:09 It's just really amazing and it's our first try as well. We don't know how to express
00:17 but it's just really emotional at the moment.
00:22 To make the day even more unique, Father Danny Nguyen is also a leap year baby.
00:27 I don't have a present for you on the 29th this year but the baby comes in and he says

00:51 Little Hugh wasn't the only leap day baby born in Adelaide. Baby Miles also joined the
00:57 rare group known as Leaplings after he waited a little longer to arrive than his expected

01:04 He planned to stay in as long as he wanted and it was definitely not what we planned.
