Whenever we talk about India’s journey at the 2011 World Cup, we mention names like MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, and Sachin Tendulkar for their contributions. However, we often forget to acknowledge Zaheer Khan, who was the leading wicket-taker of that World Cup. Zaheer Khan showcased his bowling prowess, particularly with the old ball, utilising the knuckleball to weave magic on the field. He frequently bewildered opposition batters with his skill, leaving them pondering how they missed his deliveries. Khan consistently picked up wickets whenever the Indian team needed breakthroughs, and his performance against England almost secured victory for India. His first spell in the final was particularly noteworthy, as he bowled three maidens, claimed a crucial wicket, and conceded only six runs. His form persisted throughout the entire World Cup, significantly contributing to India's victory in the tournament after 28 years.
