00:00 Hello friends, I am back with another video on parenting
00:11 In today's video we are going to talk about love language
00:14 A language which our child wants us to talk about
00:17 A language which our child will easily understand
00:20 which will make him feel secured, wanted & loved
00:23 So, basically there are 5 kinds of love languages
00:26 First is physical touch, quality time, words of affirmation, gifts & acts of service
00:33 Now how do I understand as a parent what is my child's love language
00:38 So, I will give you some clues which might help you to find out which is your child's love language
00:44 A child can have a primary love language or there could be combination of these love languages
00:49 So, the first one, physical touch
00:52 It's a very strong love language
00:55 Infact it is the strongest of the love languages because it communicates I love you
01:00 Most of the children like to be touched by their mom, dad, grandparent & sometimes teachers
01:07 For children who understand this love language, physical touch can communicate love
01:12 more better than gifts, acts of service or words of affirmation
01:16 So, regularly hug your child, kiss your child, give him a high five, pat on his back
01:22 or may be you can make your child sit on your lap & read a book
01:25 This will communicate love very strongly to your child if physical touch is your child's love language
01:32 Words of affirmation can communicate love because words are very powerful
01:38 A child can reap the benefits of affirming words for a lifetime
01:43 Conversely, negative words can hurt a child's self-esteem & cast doubt about his abilities
01:51 So, please use words of endearment, praise, encouragement
01:55 because these words communicate I love you to him
01:59 Moving on to the third love language which is quality time
02:02 Quality time means spending time with our child minus our gadgets
02:07 because today is a busy life & at times it is difficult to give undivided attention to our child
02:12 Let us try to give quality time to our child if this is his primary love language
02:17 Let's try to have more eye contact with our child, share our thoughts & feelings, read book with our child
02:25 Ask him how does he feel when he reads a book
02:28 because in today's time children really don't know how to express themselves
02:32 If on a regular basis we are spending quality time with our child
02:36 we will be able to fill his love time
02:38 Gifts, if this is the love language of your child, they can become symbols of love
02:44 We should try to combine the other love languages with the language of gifts
02:50 because it can emotionally fill the love tank
02:53 There is a very thin line between gifting & bribing about which we will talk in another video
03:00 Gifting is an expression of love
03:02 When we are on a tour, we can buy some gifts for our child or maybe a theme collector
03:07 or favorite cartoon character
03:09 These are the different ways through which we can fill their emotional love tank
03:13 And coming to the last one which is acts of service
03:16 Acts of service show love by helping the child with almost everything like cooking their meals
03:23 providing clothing, working on a project together
03:25 It could be emotionally & physically demanding
03:28 But if this is your child's love language, please try to fill his love language
03:33 so that he feels secure & connected with you
