Price of the BMW F 900 GS: € 13,950

The BMW F 900 GS 2024 is a new generation mid-displacement road bike that surpasses the BMW F 850 GS, providing better performance while retaining good off-road and touring capabilities in a further enhanced form.

If we start with the most important change, we see it in the engine. Like its R and XR siblings, the inline twin grows to 895cc from the previous 853cc. It has a firing range of 270/450 degrees and produces a very distinctive sound. The motorcycle's performance increases to 77 kW (105 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm; this is an increase in power, also characterized by a much more complete torque curve, greater traction and more intense acceleration. The quality of this engine is improved thanks to two counter-rotating balanced shafts.

The user can choose between two riding modes: Rain and Road. Cornering-optimized ABS Pro, dynamic brake light, heated grips and DTC traction control come standard. If you want even more possibilities, you can add Pro riding modes as an extra with additional modes, drive mode preselection and engine traction torque control, in addition to DBC dynamic braking control.

One of the elements that most characterizes the BMW F 900 GS is the new 14.5-litre fuel tank, now made of plastic and saving 4.5 kg of weight (the previous one made of steel was 0.5 l larger). The frame is a type of bridge consisting of deep-drawn sheet steel parts welded together, in which the engine is integrated as a support member. The rear has been completely redesigned, now has a much more dynamic appearance and saves 2.4 kg of weight. The Akrapovič silencer reduces weight by a further 1.7 kg. The inverted fork is new, fully adjustable and signed by Showa.

Those responsible for the brand have designed a new Enduro Pro package that gives it greater off-road capability. This includes the fully adjustable titanium nitride coated fork and center spring support, as well as the M Endurance chain and handlebar risers.

The ergonomics of the BMW F 900 GS have also been revised to optimize off-road use. Beyond continuing to rely on 21" front and 17" rear wheels, it features a new ergonomic triangle (handlebar-seat-footrests). The fact that the footrests are lower and the handlebars are higher provides an advantage with the new tank, especially when traveling while standing. The gear lever is adjustable and the 6-speed transmission has been improved by optimizing the position of the gear lever and its new kinematics. On the other hand, the foot brake lever is in a new and higher position. The side table turns into aluminum.

One of the most striking aesthetic changes is the new headlight, which of course features LED technology, as do the direction indicators. It has a larger low beam angle.

It includes a 6.5" color TFT screen as standard, offering various information, presentation quality and ease of use.
