03:10 I want to be sexy but at the same time people will know that I'm smart.
03:14 It's not just physical but also people can see that I'm empowered with my craft.
03:19 You have to be strong in every aspect of you.
03:24 We don't stab each other's backs. We're here to push women empowerment.
03:30 Despite being fierce, their courage is still there, just like in the photoshoot.
03:37 We all know that our shoot is daring. We were wearing a swimsuit.
03:41 We prepared physically. We didn't diet.
03:45 But in the afternoon, we were all hungry.
03:50 We had pizza and we couldn't stop eating.
03:55 Angel Garnia brought a saba and Lian brought a boiled egg.
04:02 They're so kind. They brought it and we shared.
04:05 So everyone can eat if they want to.
04:09 So they won't get dizzy.
04:10 One of the things that Diane said about her advocacy is self-love and no to body shaming.
04:15 She experienced that too.
04:17 I told myself that I won't overthink because it's not good for me.
04:24 So I'll just go and accept everything.
04:28 Who I am, what I look like.
04:31 Elle and Giselle's tips to feel confidently beautiful inside and out.
04:36 You have your own voice. You're able to speak up for yourself.
04:41 And that's whenever I feel sexy.
04:43 Go to the gym, go on a diet, do this.
04:45 And then I achieved it. When I started losing weight, I feel better.
04:50 I feel a lot more comfortable with myself, confident.
04:53 If you could give a project a sparkle, what would it be?
04:56 It would be fun to see a comedy drama.
05:00 Because we're all so messy and we're all acting.
05:03 I feel like it's beautiful and we're all on an island.
05:06 Their Sparkle 10 sister, Kate Valdez, didn't attend the media conference.
05:12 GMA executives are fully supportive of their senior vice president for Program Support Department
05:18 and Chief Risk Officer, Reggie C. Bautista.
05:22 And senior vice president attorney, Annette Gozon Valdez.
05:25 You know, they're all smart, very intelligent ladies, very talented.
05:29 They each have their own personalities.
05:31 And it's perfect that we launched this now because March is Women's Month, Women Empowerment.
05:36 And we saw that these are strong women.
05:39 They have goals, they have dreams, and they're on their way to achieve them.
05:44 Katatibayan updated on the showbiz happenings.
05:48 The resolution of both houses number 7, which is in the Committee of the House,
05:55 was amended to the Economic Provisions of the Legislative Assembly.
06:01 But the Senate, admitted by the Senate President, that their version of the resolution is a big challenge.
06:07 That is the joint effort of Tina Panganibang Perez and Mau Gonzales.
06:12 I move that we approve our resolution of both houses number 7. So moved.
06:25 Is there any objection? Hearing none, motion is carried.
06:30 The Committee of the Whole House approved the resolution of both houses 7
06:35 that will open public utilities, basic education, and advertising to foreigners.
06:41 The present constitution, as worded, allows only up to 40% foreign ownership.
06:46 This is a provision that greatly restricts many international agreements that the Philippines is a party to.
06:52 More foreign direct investments in currently restricted areas will help spur economic growth,
07:00 generate better quality, higher paying jobs, boost incomes.
07:06 But the vote of the congressmen was not unanimous.
07:10 I object to the approval of the committee report.
07:14 The government must protect disadvantaged sectors in our economy.
07:18 This will further challenge our country to greater abuse, impoverishment, and corruption.
07:24 There were also questions about the process of deliberation of RBH 7 and the use of chacha, but they did not object.
07:33 The instant resolution of both houses is flawed, both procedurally and substantially.
07:44 Procedurally because it does not follow any of the three modes of amending the constitution.
07:57 And there are no empirical studies to show in the Philippines
08:02 that the forecasted increase in jobs, skills development,
08:09 transfer of technology, and lower cost of services and goods will be realized.
08:19 For all of these reasons, Mr. Chairman, I vote no.
08:22 Now, the RBH 7 is approved by the Committee of the Whole House.
08:26 It is expected that next week, it will be included in the second reading of the plenary.
08:32 I have a guess, by Wednesday, it will be approved by second reading by Wednesday, next week.
08:40 The target of the camera is to approve RBH 7 before the holy week break of the congress in March 23.
08:47 But the correct resolution of both houses must also be read in the Senate.
08:53 What I will say to the President, it may be challenging because we have colleagues who really do not want a charter change.
09:01 After the senators were fired,
09:03 Senate President Mig Subiri admitted that it is a big challenge to get the 18-vote requirement
09:10 to read the economic amendment in the constitution in the Senate.
09:14 There is still a majority in the Senate that believe that the economic provisions should be amended.
09:20 A majority, but there's not enough for three-fourths.
09:24 Because it might be a trap for voting as one.
09:27 So, that concerns have to be addressed.
09:29 Although there are two minority senators, Senator Coco Pimentel and Riz Jonteveros,
09:34 who were the first to say that they will vote on the charter,
09:37 Senator Cynthia Villar and Aimee Marcos, who are allies of the administration, are also against it.
09:43 There are only three and they will get the seven votes that are needed to trash the charter.
09:48 Earlier, the Senate Committee on Rules discussed the guidelines while hearing the amendment to the constitution,
09:54 including how the charter change will be discussed, whether the session of the House and Senate will be separate or together,
10:01 and their vote.
10:03 In the separate session, three-fourths will need to vote from the two groups.
10:08 And if their version is different, the decision will be brought to the Bicameral Conference Committee,
10:13 which will also be valid the decision to amend the constitution if it is ratified by the public in a plebiscite.
10:20 For GMA Integrated News, I am Mav Gonzalez.
10:24 Tina, Panganiban Perez.
10:26 We have been watching 24/7.
10:29 The truck was spotted, even though the road was not closed, this weekend.
10:37 The authorities chased it, so the driver was caught.
10:41 His explanation for the arrest of John Consuta, exclusive.
10:48 Last morning, this Saturday, March 2, 2024, while traveling on the northbound lane of the South Luzon Expressway,
10:56 a dashcam video captured the crash of a truck on the back of a car.
11:01 In another video, on the back of a car, the entrance of a dump truck on the lane of the car was seen before it crashed.
11:10 The sound of the people inside the car, including a 3-year-old and a 11-year-old child, was recorded on video,
11:18 including their mother.
11:21 My child was crying because I hit the window.
11:27 So, the trauma was a bit surprising because she saw the truck.
11:31 And the child's emotions were severe.
11:36 So, that's the most painful for me.
11:39 The driver of the car told us that after crashing into the back of the car,
11:43 he forced the driver to pull over to the right because if not, everyone in the car would be in danger.
11:49 When the driver pulled over to the left, we had a tendency to pull over to his side.
11:58 If I didn't pull over to his right, we had a tendency to pull over to his wheel.
12:07 So, we all had a tendency to die.
12:09 Instead of stopping to help his vehicle, the truck passed by the car unprepared.
12:16 But because of the dashcam, the truck's body number and logo were captured.
12:22 Three days after the incident, the complainant and the HPG switched the truck to the C5.
12:30 So, they chased the truck and locked it so that the driver could talk.
12:35 The truck's driver was called to the police station.
12:38 He said that he didn't know that he was hit by something while driving.
12:42 But on the front part and the rim of the truck's wheel,
12:46 the red paint was seen that was taken from the hit of the vehicle.
12:51 The truck's driver ate a small piece of salinia.
12:58 It was fast and heavy.
13:01 That's why the truck stopped.
13:05 Request for imprudence resulting in damage to property is one of the cases that we will file.
13:13 I can't believe that they didn't arrest us.
13:16 Especially, they didn't arrest us on the side.
13:19 We were on the front when they pulled us over.
13:22 I'm definitely filing a criminal case against them.
13:27 For GMA Integrated News, John Consulta.
13:31 It's been 24 hours.
13:33 It's illegal and can be a fire.
13:37 The complainant complained about the jumper or illegal connection of electricity in Quezon City.
13:43 The Mayoralco will notice that there's a fine for that.
13:47 Maki Pulido is on the case.
13:53 My fellow Mayoralco, this is the illegal electricity here.
13:57 You can see it's straight.
13:59 The electricity is connected straight.
14:02 They've been using it for years.
14:04 That's how Romulo Tamai appealed to cut the jumper or illegal connection of electricity in their area.
14:11 Because the jumper might catch fire.
14:14 I went to their area in Alcantara Street in Tandang Sorak, Quezon City
14:20 and I saw an illegal connection from an empty meter base.
14:23 My fellow complainants have the same concern about the cables.
14:28 I'm afraid of overloading because there are a lot of houses here.
14:33 I can't handle it.
14:36 Our area is small because it's hard for the firemen to pass through.
14:42 The Mayoralco acted immediately but it seems like the jumper or illegal connection was not able to reach the people.
14:48 Mayoralco cut the cables in an empty meter base so that the jumper or illegal connection would not be able to reach the people.
14:54 It's a dangerous jumper and it can be burned.
14:57 If it's overloaded, it can spark.
15:00 Those sparks can spread to the lines of our area.
15:05 Sometimes it's connected to houses.
15:08 That's when the fire can spread.
15:13 Some people here understand that their neighbors are using the jumper,
15:18 especially if it's hard to pay for the jumper to connect to the cut off power.
15:21 Where will the people get the money to pay for the jumper if their husbands don't have a decent job?
15:29 But Mayoralco said that aside from the high fees,
15:32 there is a law against electricity pilferage or theft that has a fine of P20,000 and a prison term of 12 years.
15:40 Community involvement is a big factor here.
15:44 We just need to provide adequate and reliable information.
15:49 Rest assured, we will act on it.
15:51 For GMA Integrated News, Mackie Pulido, for Tutok, 24 hours.
15:55 My fellow countrymen, the fire is possible to return but the hot weather will continue throughout the country.
16:06 The heat will reach the extreme northern Luzon tomorrow and some parts of Luzon by the weekend.
16:13 But hope is that this is not the last storm in Amihan and it will continue to monitor for the next few weeks.
16:21 More places will experience the effect of the Easter lease or the wind,
16:27 including Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
16:31 Tomorrow, the hot weather will prepare again.
16:36 Based on the Heat Index Forecast, the heat will reach 43 degrees Celsius in Rojas, Capiz.
16:43 The 42 degrees Celsius in Iloilo City is possible,
16:47 while 41 degrees Celsius in Catmalogan, Western Samar, Cotabato City and Zamboanga City
16:53 are already under the state of calamity due to the El Niño.
16:58 Based on the METRA Weather, the chance of rain tomorrow is low in most of the country.
17:04 There are scattered and light rains in Isabela, Cagayan and Cordillera Administrative Region.
17:10 This is also expected in Negros Provinces, Cebu and Leyte,
17:15 as well as in Sulu Archipelago, Zamboanga Peninsula and Barm.
17:19 The hot weather in Metro Manila will continue, so don't forget to bring an umbrella.
