NYC Designer Terry Singh began his journey into the world of fashion in the late 70s, when a transformative trip to India served as a catalyst to create clothing that was truly powerful, embodying self-expression and individuality. Today his mission is no different, showing a powerful mens collection that was inspired once again, by a trip to India, but this time, immersing himself into the Parambikulam Tiger reserve of Kerala. Seeking 'escape from the human world,' Singh says he found himself by a stream, surrounded by the profound imprints of mighty tiger paws, and was waiting to be consumed by one of them. After two days of deep meditation and anticipating the transformative embrace of a tiger's consumption, he gained a newfound desire to meld his essence with the majestic creature that never came. Hence the inspiration for this Fall 2024 collection; the notion that we embody everything, existing across all realms. The evolution he says, 'of becoming something.'

00:02 - This collection is about bringing that inside
00:12 on the outside, and obviously we don't usually show that.
00:15 We have a culture of just dressing up everything over,
00:20 but intrinsically who we are, there's an essence,
00:22 there's something that's unique in each one of us,
00:24 and so there's a personality in each of the pieces.
00:27 I spent six months in India, two days in a stream
00:32 in a tiger reserve, hoping to be eaten by the tiger,
00:36 so my flesh will become the tiger's flesh,
00:39 and after two days I didn't get eaten.
00:41 I'm like, okay, this is not gonna happen.
00:43 When I left, I didn't realize that experience changed
00:48 like the evolution of becoming something,
00:50 and that story now is in this collection.

00:57 This is a really good one.
00:59 This is me here as a New Yorker buying groceries,
01:04 and this is two robbers, some friends of mine
01:06 and their brand that we're doing a collaboration with.
01:09 I always use a lot of textures,
01:13 'cause textures story tell, and they have feeling
01:16 and emotion, and so essentially,
01:19 that's really the story behind it.
