00:00 "And funnily enough, 91% of the respondents from UK business believe that technology will
00:07 play a really important role in navigating the uncertainties that they'll face over the
00:13 next 12 months. But navigating it in a positive way as well, so providing reliable market
00:19 predictions as well as overcoming any perceived hurdles that might be coming their way as
00:24 well."
00:26 Tech evidently continues to dominate industry. Whether it be the rise of sharp and shiny
00:31 AI technology or the evolution of cloud solutions, experts plan to gather at Tech Show London
00:36 to understand the trends and technologies which are defining our decade.
00:40 "Legislation, how can that be brought in as a legal requirement to understand the use
00:46 of AI for good? What does that impact on the vendors exhibiting at the show, looking to
00:54 do business with SMEs and big global corporates? And then more importantly, what does that
01:00 mean about our data as well? How accessible is our data? And what does that impact with
01:06 – we've got a general election coming up, possibly coming up this year as well as in
01:13 the States. So it's making sure that we embrace the opportunity, but it's also about
01:19 harnessing artificial intelligence to make sure that the information isn't hijacked
01:26 and misused and misappropriated. You won't know when you're interacting with technology
01:32 rather than human going forward, but it's got to be done in the right way and it's
01:36 got to be embraced and governed in the right way as well. So it's going to increase efficiency,
01:40 it's going to improve customer experience, it's going to improve your experience, my
01:45 experience of interacting, purchasing elements or just interacting online or in person as
01:51 well. So it is around that interaction with machines, but it's understanding that that's
01:57 a good thing as long as it's monitored and we all behave and we use it for good rather
02:03 than for the negative side.
02:05 Impactful voices across industry, including Professor Brian Cox, CEO of Starling Bank
02:11 Ann Borden and Dragon's Den star Piers Linney are just some of the speakers confirmed at
02:15 this year's event. Almost 15,000 fellow industry players are set to meet and collaborate
02:21 across the two days the show is held and with over 200 hours of insightful tech talks set
02:26 to take place, 65% of these will be represented by women.
02:31 And really talking about everything to do with governance, tech for good, as well as
02:37 ensuring that we're looking at addressing other elements such as skills, people coming
02:42 into the industry itself, ensuring that we've got a good broad crossover of everybody who's
02:48 looking to come into the industry. So the data centre side in particular has got to
02:53 be the skills gap. So that's not the kind of AI shiny tech that everyone's interested
