The Pittsburgh Steelers could look to shakeup their wide receiver room this Spring.

00:00 was a bit surprised by how much attention they actually put into the wide receiver position.
00:05 In your mind, does this feel like the first signs of smoke of a potential Deontay Johnson trade?
00:11 Because you have to imagine. It does.
00:12 Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It feels like it would almost have to happen before.
00:18 They would sell high on Deontay. Because I feel like after you draft a receiver,
00:25 you kind of drive his stock down a little bit. But yeah, that was the first thing I thought when
00:30 you mentioned wide receivers and you thought about maybe trading up for one. I think you only do that
00:35 if you're planning on not having Deontay Johnson for next season.
00:39 I think I agree with you 100%. I think that trade would happen during the draft. Remember the year,
00:44 the Kenny Pickett year, the year that Kenny Pickett got drafted. There was like four wide receivers
00:48 that were just boom, drafted for a first round pick, drafted for a first round pick. And I think
00:52 Deontay Johnson, maybe not a first, but maybe you trade him right before 20 so that you could get
00:58 a second round pick. Maybe you draft a guy. And I think it does lower his stock. I think I agree
01:03 with that one. But maybe you draft a guy and have a plan early in the second round to get something
01:07 else of a different position. I think there's a team out there. I know people are saying,
01:11 "Oh, Deontay's worth a third, maybe a fourth round pick." I honestly, I think there are NFL
01:18 teams out there that would give you a high second round pick for Deontay Johnson. I really, truly do.
01:24 And I think that could be a move. I didn't believe it until all this happened. And I still think
01:31 if I had to bet, I'd say that Deontay Johnson's on the roster in 2024 and then you move on from
01:38 him after the season, just because you're trying to get everything you possibly can
01:42 out of this team this season. But this is the first time that to a degree, it definitely seems
01:48 realistic that maybe a trade does happen at wide receiver, which would be wild. The Steelers just
01:55 making moves for a bunch of positions. But I think it makes sense because they're going to draft a
01:58 wide receiver either way. So who cares? And honestly, I think free agency tells you a bunch
02:02 about that. If they go out and they sign a Tyler Boyd, if they sign whoever, whoever the veteran
02:08 free agent wide receiver is that they go and get, maybe they are gearing up to say, "All right,
02:14 well, we're going to swap out Deontay for a rookie." And in the first round, I mean,
02:17 this talent, the class in this talent is, or the talent in this class is crazy. I think it can make
02:23 some sense.
