00:11 Judo Tour. Today we celebrate International Women`s Day, a day to honor the remarkable
00:16 contributions of women around the globe. It`s a call to action for gender equality, to challenge
00:21 bias and to inspire inclusion.
00:24 The final block opening speeches were given by the governor of Upper Austria, Thomas Steltzer,
00:30 director general of the International Judo Federation, Vlad Marinescu, president of Austrian
00:35 Judo Federation, Martin Poiga, and Markus Achleitner, minister of economy and sports
00:40 of Upper Austria, who also welcomed the judo family to Linz.
00:45 An amazing performance from Serbia`s Marica Perisic deep into golden school saw her eventually
00:50 claim the win over Julie Berskins to take the under 57 kilo gold. Awarding the medals
00:56 was Upper Austria governor Thomas Steltzer.
01:02 In the under 48 kilo class, Mitsuki Kondo of Japan defeated her compatriot Wakana Inagaki
01:08 to take her first medal on the World Judo Tour. Director general of the International
01:16 Judo Federation, Vlad Marinescu, awarded the medals.
01:26 In the under 60 kilo category, Spain`s reigning world champion and world ranked number one,
01:31 Francisco Garagos saw off the challenger Frenchman Cedric Rivau, throwing for Wazari before securing
01:37 a vice-like pin to take the title.
01:40 The Austrian minister of economy and sports, Markus Achleitner, was on hand to award the
01:44 medals.
01:46 "It`s my first time here in Austria and everything was great. I`d really like to come here again
01:54 next year."
02:00 Larissa Pimenta and Binta Endi contested the under 52 kilo class final. It was the Brazilian
02:05 Pimenta who succeeded in throwing for Opon and was absolutely delighted.
02:13 Awarding the medals was IJF general treasurer Nasser Altamimi.
02:18 "I love the energy here. There was one time in the final after the Osekomi when the kids
02:26 were all cheering for me. It gave me so much strength."
