00:00 Hello, I'm James McMuravich. I've been working on a story about the Shire Horse pub in Stafford.
00:06 The pub has undergone a six-figure refurbishment by owners Chef & Brewer.
00:11 It means that the pub, which is situated on the outskirts of Stafford and can be accessed either by going on the A34 north out of Stafford
00:18 or getting off at junction 14 of the M6 and following the signs for Stafford and Stone,
00:23 it means that the pub is going to be open on Monday, March 11th.
00:27 Work that has gone into the pub includes updating the interior and the exterior,
00:32 adding a new outdoor area and a heated wooden pagoda, and also updating the food menu.
00:38 There's interesting things on there and I'll have a quick read of the list now.
00:41 British slow-cooked steak and ale pie, cottage pie croquettes, a chef's board, which is a mixture of croquettes,
00:48 crispy strips, chipolatas and stuff like that, crispy squid, as well as steaks and burgers and other pub classics.
00:54 The pub itself reopens on Monday. You can have a look on their website. It's going to be worth a look.
00:59 I went there on Friday to have a quick look around. They invited me on a VIP event.
01:03 So I was able to chat to the staff, I was able to have a look at the pub itself, and I think it's going to be worth going to have a look.
01:08 I'll also be featuring it as a Love You Local, so plenty more to come about this pub this week.
