00:07 A player who started out red hot last year for the Texas Rangers,
00:11 was in that conversation for Rookie of the Year for quite some time.
00:15 And then things did drop off after an injury in the second half.
00:18 So I think we need to talk about this because he's being drafted currently
00:21 around 122.
00:23 A good season when you look out in a paper, right?
00:25 75 runs, 70 RBI, 23 homers, hit 266.
00:30 Now he did have some good performances in the postseason.
00:34 I think that's what people remember.
00:35 But I'm also not forgetting that in the second half last year,
00:39 he hit 229 with a 638 OPS.
00:43 It seemed like the league really did make adjustments to Josh Young.
00:47 Now I understand we could talk about the injuries and missing some time and
00:49 what that meant to that 34 game stretch in the second half.
00:52 But that's a pretty good sample there where I think there should at least be
00:55 some concern when it comes to Josh Young.
00:57 I don't think there's enough being built into that ADP because once again,
01:01 there's plenty of pivots you can make at the position.
01:03 So Josh Young at ADP of 122, you could wait for a guy like Isaac Paredes.
01:09 You can look for a guy with power like Jake Berger or Nolan Gorman,
01:12 if you're looking for that sort of guy.
01:14 Or an old crafty veteran like Justin Turner,
01:17 who we keep trying to write off every single year.
01:19 And guess what, last year all he did was drive in 96 runs and
01:22 hit 23 bombs and 276 batting average.
01:24 So you can't stop that guy.
01:27 And I'm just wondering, in redraft leagues,
01:29 is Josh Young worth this premium?
01:31 Do you think he is?
01:32 >> Well, the Josh Young defender, Truther, will come back to you,
01:37 will return serve with, hey, that was a thumb injury last season.
01:42 And those are really, really monumental for
01:45 hitters to overcome, especially young hitters.
01:48 No one's talking about the fact if you're monitoring in the spring,
01:51 he hasn't even started running yet, he's got a calf injury.
01:54 So now you're gonna say to me, okay, Joe, you make a great point.
01:57 Someone returned serve and you're gonna say, well, thumb, well, calf.
02:00 Well, you give me one more of those wells and I'm going somewhere else.

02:08 So I don't know, I'm off it because of the uncertainty and the volatility.
