00:07 >> Thank you so much.
00:08 I'm going to read.
00:09 I'm afraid.
00:09 Thank you to the Academy for this honor
00:13 and to our partners A24 Film for Access
00:15 and the Polish Film Institute to the Auschwitz-Birkenau State
00:18 Museum for their trust and guidance.
00:20 To my producers, actors, collaborators,
00:22 all our choices were made to reflect and confront us
00:25 in the present, not to say look what they did then,
00:27 rather look what we do now.
00:29 Our film shows where dehumanization leads
00:32 at its worst.
00:33 It shaped all of our past and present.
00:36 Right now, we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness
00:40 and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led
00:43 to conflict for so many innocent people.
00:45 Whether the victims of October--
00:47 [ Applause ]
00:53 Whether the victims of October the 7th in Israel
00:55 or the ongoing attack on Gaza,
00:58 all the victims of this dehumanization.
01:00 How do we resist?
01:02 [ Applause ]
01:09 Alexandra Bistron Koladziejczyk, the girl who glows in the film
01:13 as she did in life, chose to.
01:15 I dedicate this to her memory and her resistance.
01:18 Thank you.
