If you have travel plans on March 12, it may be one of the best days in recent weeks to hit the roads or the skies as far as avoiding severe weather goes.
Transcript
00:00 It has made a comeback for a few drivers in parts of the Northeast as they dealt with these
00:05 challenging conditions throughout portions of Maryland. This is Grantsville area yesterday.
00:11 Now the snow, it's finally kind of wrapped up in many locations. The wind has blown a lot of those
00:17 roads dry. So where else might there be travel troubles across the nation for tomorrow? The
00:23 good news is tomorrow as a whole nationwide is a pretty quiet day, but we did find some
00:27 slower spots for your morning commute. So the color of your morning commute, yellow in places
00:31 like Salt Lake City where there will be that rain moving through in the morning hours, at least a
00:35 couple passing showers. San Francisco also getting a shower or two for the morning. Bangor, it's still
00:41 windy as the storm system departs early on. Then things will start to quiet down for us. So you can
00:46 see that storm system still holding on over Canada and portions of Maine, but for the most part, lots
00:52 of green on the board. It's Seattle that has those minor delays as does the entire Northwest
00:58 dealing with some of those rain showers at times, maybe some snow showers if you're high enough in
01:02 elevation. The moisture is still here, so expect some slower goes in this portion of the country.
01:07 As you work your way towards San Francisco, a few minor delays due to some of those showers. The
01:11 interior Southwest, not quite as bad. Denver, you're still quiet for one more day before we
01:18 get into the action on Wednesday. That'll come through Wednesday afternoon. Off towards east,
01:23 Montreal, Buffalo still okay, but like I said, Bangor dealing with some of those strong winds.
01:27 If you're in the crown of Maine, you may even have to contend with some snow showers on the
01:31 departure of that storm system. The I-95 corridor, New York to Washington, D.C. looking A-OK with
01:38 sunshine out there and like I said, those rebounding temperatures. Flight cancellations,
01:42 the upcoming days overall relatively low. We're looking at them between 50 to 150, which is about
01:49 where we'd expect them this time of year. Thursday, though, we will have the risk for severe weather
01:53 over a good chunk of the country, and that's going to heighten those flight cancellations
01:57 to 300 due to thunderstorm activity.
