00:00 "Not gonna happen. Last night was the end of this freak show."
00:04 Welcome to WatchMojo!
00:06 And today we're looking at times protagonist and antagonist hooked up,
00:10 leaving viewers captivated and maybe a little confused too.
00:14 Warning! Expect some spoilers ahead.
00:17 "Shall we steal their stupid cameras?"
00:20 "Yes."
00:26 10. Artemisia and Themistocles - 300 Rise of an Empire
00:32 In this sequel to 300, what starts as a negotiation between two opposing military leaders
00:38 ends in, well, something a little more than politics.
00:42 "Gobard and you are quite impressive."
00:46 "Kind words."
00:53 Athenian General Themistocles is summoned to Persian Queen Artemisia's warship
00:59 for a quote-unquote "meeting".
01:01 "I'd say there's a spark of the divine in you."
01:03 After some epic flirtation, Artemisia seduces Themistocles and attempts to
01:09 convince him to join her side and become her lieutenant.
01:12 "You ask me when to negotiate a surrender."
01:14 "No. I offer you a chance to avoid such misery and join me."
01:20 While he does, uh, seize her glory, Themistocles rejects Artemisia's offer to team up,
01:27 which the notorious female warrior does not appreciate.
01:31 Following their fling, the scorned Artemisia noticeably amps up her fighting game.
01:36 Guess we don't all take rejection well.
01:39 "Surrender to me or meet your death."
01:42 "Who would you fight if not for me? No one could challenge your skill."
01:46 "I would rather die a free man than as a slave."
01:50 Number 9. Grant Ward and Skye and May.
01:54 Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
01:56 Grant Ward really got around, at least until he was outed as a double agent.
02:01 "Some people are just born evil, I guess."
02:03 "Yeah. Yeah, maybe they are."
02:06 Ward entertains not one but two flings with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents while serving as a false
02:11 member of the heroic team, and ends up betraying and deceiving both women when they discover he's
02:17 been working for the criminal organization, HYDRA. Early in season one, he begins a secret
02:22 affair with veteran agent Melinda May, but their spark dies down when he falls for,
02:27 or at least appears to fall for, a hacker named Skye, whom he is assigned to train.
02:33 "You said he might die, so what the hell?"
02:36 "Lock the door behind me."
02:41 When Ward's true loyalty is revealed, neither of his two flames are too happy.
02:46 "I have a weapon much better than a bomb that will absolutely destroy you."
02:49 "Why's that?"
02:52 "Because you slept with her, and she's really pissed off."
02:56 Number 8. Deborah Morgan and Brian Moser, aka the Ice Truck Killer. Dexter. Don't you hate it
03:07 when you end up falling for the very murderer you've been chasing all season? In Lieutenant
03:12 Deborah Morgan's case, that's exactly what happens at the end of season one.
03:17 "Have you had dinner yet?"
03:18 "I would love to."
03:18 The titular anti-hero's adoptive sister enters a relationship with friendly prosthetist
03:24 Rudy Cooper. The two have what seems to be a normal courtship, and Deborah is obviously smitten.
03:30 However, we soon learn that Rudy is the Ice Truck Killer, who is being investigated for
03:35 killing and mutilating multiple women. "I think a real cop would at least have a sense
03:41 that she was in the presence of that person she was hunting."
03:44 It turns out that Deborah is just a pawn in his plan to get close to,
03:51 and ultimately team up with, his long-lost brother, Dexter. The ordeal leaves poor Deborah
03:57 traumatized. "Is it you?"
04:00 "Pretty sure it is."
04:02 Number 7. Isabel Rochev and Oliver Queen, Arrow. Season two sees Green Arrow himself fall prey to
04:11 yet another enemy in an ally's clothing. Isabel Rochev, an executive at Queen Consolidated,
04:17 cozies up to Oliver Queen, aka Arrow, while in Russia. "Underneath that swagger, I see you pretty
04:24 clearly." "Really? And what do you see?" "You're intelligent, driven, and lonely."
04:36 As events unfold, we learn that Isabel has been in the pocket of evil Slade Wilson the whole time,
04:42 and had been preparing his Deathstroke army behind Oliver's back.
04:45 "Slade, you're working for him?" "With?"
04:50 Isabel wants revenge on the Queen family after Oliver's father, Robert, abandoned her years
04:56 before. "Why are you doing this?" "I think it's sad you don't know. The sins of the father are
05:04 the sins of the son." Well, this is one of those flings on the list that doesn't go much longer
05:10 than a single night. We can't help but feel bad for Oliver for the predicament he finds himself in.
05:15 "Isabel, I have to go. I'm sorry." "Do I strike you as someone who needs to cuddle?"
05:20 Number 6. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, Game of Thrones. So this one gets a little complicated,
05:29 as Game of Thrones loves to keep audiences trying to figure out who the hero and villain are.
05:35 "I wish I could take it back. I wish we'd never gone."
05:40 "We don't." But Daenerys' actions towards the end of the series paint her quite clearly as
05:50 bad news. By season 7, the Mother of Dragons and King of the North have formed not only a sturdy
05:56 alliance, but a romantic bond as well. "He loved her. And she loved him."
06:10 Unbeknownst to them, they're also related, but that's beside the point. Jon and Dany's
06:16 royal romance crumbles around the time she destroys King's Landing, and he comes to
06:21 recognize her as the tyrant she has turned into. As a result, he's forced to make an agonizing
06:27 decision in the finale. "We break the wheel together."
06:31 "You are my queen. Now and always." Number 5. Eve Palastri and Villanelle,
06:44 Killing Eve. If there's a fine line between sworn enemy and passionate lover, the relationship
06:50 between Eve Palastri and her arch-nemesis Villanelle is pretty much the embodiment of that
06:55 line. "Wear it down." The British series follows MI5 agent Eve in her hunt for infamous assassin
07:07 Villanelle. Along the way, Eve and Villanelle develop a mutual affinity for one another
07:12 that may be called love, obsession, or a dangerous mixture of both.
07:16 "I just want to have dinner with you. Okay?" Over the show's four seasons, we see their
07:24 dynamic evolve from cat and mouse to a tight, if twisted, bond. At least,
07:30 things appear to end well for the badass couple. "I'm being exiled."
07:38 Number 4. Indiana Jones and Dr. Elsa Schneider, The Indiana Jones Franchise.
07:44 "Leave me alone. I don't like fast women." "And I hate arrogant men."
07:52 Indiana Jones fans were genuinely surprised when our hero's rendezvous with Dr. Elsa Schneider
07:58 panned out the way it did. In the third film, Schneider, a beautiful Austrian historian,
08:04 teams up with Indy on his search for the Holy Grail. One romantic day in Venice,
08:08 the two of them go for a nice little roll in Zehe. "I'm a Venice."
08:16 Not long afterward, though, Schneider reveals herself as a Nazi sympathizer
08:20 who has just been using Indy and his father to acquire the Grail for Hitler.
08:25 "But you should have listened to your father." This bitter revelation certainly makes things
08:33 awkward whenever they have to interact throughout the rest of the film. And it doesn't help that
08:38 Schneider is implied to have had a run-in with Indy's dad as well. "How did you know she was a
08:44 Nazi?" "She talks in her sleep." Number 3. Buffy Summers and Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
08:52 What begins as a bitter rivalry between Vampire and Slayer becomes one of the most controversial
08:57 romances in television history. When Buffy first meets Spike in season two, he's a feared vampire
09:04 who has already defeated two Slayers over the course of his tortured eternal life.
09:08 After a bizarre turn of events, Buffy and Spike become allies and, a little while later, a couple.
09:26 As the seasons develop, viewers observe every step of the toxic dance that is their relationship.
09:32 There may have been a lot of passion between Buffy and Spike, but fans often describe their
09:37 union as unhealthy. And it's easy to see why. "Touched a nerve, didn't it?" "Don't flatter
09:43 yourself." Number 2. Batman and Talia al Ghul, The Dark Knight Rises. The Batman franchise
09:51 enjoys having its heroes fraternize with the enemy. And one of the most notable instances
09:56 occurs in The Dark Knight Rises. The 2012 blockbuster finds Talia al Ghul, daughter of
10:06 Ra's al Ghul, posing as the CEO of Wayne Enterprises. She befriends and earns the trust
10:13 of the brooding Bruce Wayne and eventually becomes his lover. Whereas other incarnations
10:26 of Talia have been more sympathetic, in this film she's pretty underhanded, very clearly using Wayne
10:32 in her plot to avenge her dead father and destroy Gotham. Tough break, Bruce, but at least you've
10:37 still got Selena. "You think all this can last? There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne."

10:57 Number 1. James Bond and Vesper Lynde, Casino Royale. No matter the movie he's in or the actor
11:07 portraying him, 007 certainly seems to have a type, the bad girl. "I'm the money. Every penny of it."
11:17 From Pussy Galore to Electric King and beyond, Bond just goes mad for these off-limits ladies.
11:24 But the one that takes the cake is Vesper Lynde from Casino Royale. "I can't resist waking you.
11:29 Every time I do, you look at me as if you haven't seen me in years.
11:36 It makes me feel real poor." In this installment, which chronologically comes before all the other
11:42 Bond films, the sultry, seductive Lynde forms what seems to be an honest connection with Daniel
11:47 Craig's Bond as they attempt to combat a terrorist organization. Unfortunately for Bond, though,
11:53 Lynde is eventually disclosed to be a double agent and ends up breaking his heart. All the same,
11:59 one might argue that Lynde brings out a softer side of 007 that we never see again. "Does this
12:05 mean that you're warming to me?" "Yeah, that's how I would describe it." Which is your favorite
12:11 date with disaster? Feel free to tell us in the comment section. "You sound like you're looking
12:16 forward to it." "I'm adaptable." Did you enjoy this video? Check out these other clips from WatchMojo
