00:00:00 I just spent 50 hours lost at sea turning this tiny raft into a massive ocean base.

00:00:05 This was done during a mini-series which I've put together for you to enjoy as one long movie.

00:00:09 So sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

00:00:12 I'm trapped in the middle of the ocean surrounded by sharks

00:00:14 and with nothing but a tiny raft, I have to complete these goals.

00:00:18 I'm going to turn this smelly raft into a self-sustaining home,

00:00:21 build a tree farm, mine underground, explore the ocean and create a long-term food source.

00:00:26 Ready for the adventure?

00:00:28 What is that?

00:00:29 Are we doing back there? Are we good?

00:00:31 That thing is getting too close. I don't like it.

00:00:33 I think that's looking pretty good.

00:00:34 Oh, what was that? Oh, it's a jellyfish.

00:00:36 This place is like a jungle right now.

00:00:39 Oh, oh, God. He actually went for me.

00:00:41 There's a big eel thing. I don't like it.

00:00:43 I think we've done really good here.

00:00:44 And first thing I spot is a barrel.

00:00:49 I want to fish that up straight away.

00:00:50 Oh, and I do see some string over there too.

00:00:52 That's going to be real nice for making a bed early on.

00:00:54 And speaking of, I do have four goals that I want to achieve today.

00:00:57 I want to craft a bed, make a tree farm, build a base and create a food farm.

00:01:02 But let's get back to fishing.

00:01:03 Not too sure I want to swim over there as those are shark infested waters,

00:01:06 but I kind of don't have a choice here.

00:01:09 Let us see what is in this barrel.

00:01:10 And I am praying for a sapling.

00:01:12 And if it does give us a sapling, please let it be a spruce.

00:01:15 Oh, it actually was a spruce!

00:01:17 We got some dirt as well.

00:01:18 A lot of coal, a lot of tiddies, some carrots.

00:01:21 This is a good box.

00:01:22 We have the jackpot here.

00:01:23 We've got iron ore, two beetroot seeds and beetroot, which we'll never use.

00:01:26 But yeah, I'm not going to complain.

00:01:28 Complicated. What is that?

00:01:29 Find iron ore. Okay.

00:01:30 Oh, an SOS. Oh, we're getting a lot of achievements here.

00:01:32 What? Like it's hard?

00:01:33 I want to get this spruce sapling planted straight away.

00:01:36 And the reason I wanted spruce is because once you get those two by two saplings

00:01:40 with the massive spruce trees, collecting wood is just so easy.

00:01:42 But we've also got four potatoes and two carrots.

00:01:45 I think I'd rather get the potatoes planted first.

00:01:47 So let's just make a little stretch of dirt out of the side of the raft here.

00:01:51 Oh, we need a hoe. I forgot about that.

00:01:52 Oh, hang on. We don't even have enough wood for a crafting bench to make a hoe.

00:01:57 I'm starting to see why this might be a bit harder than I thought.

00:02:00 All right. Well, I mean, I guess we've got time to kill.

00:02:01 Of course, we can just keep fishing in the meantime.

00:02:03 I'm assuming this fishing rod doesn't die.

00:02:05 Be kind of open if it did.

00:02:06 Pretty sure our breath is going to stink of fish by the end of this challenge.

00:02:10 Unless we can get a good crop field grown.

00:02:11 Oh, leaves. Nice.

00:02:13 We've got five bits of string already. That ain't bad.

00:02:15 I think you need 12 to craft three bits of wool, which we'll use for a bed later.

00:02:20 The reason I'm fishing these leaves up is because we can stack them up like this.

00:02:24 And hopefully if we break them, we get an oak sapling.

00:02:26 Obviously not on that attempt, but it will happen eventually.

00:02:31 Because we're not actually getting any more spawn in here now.

00:03:10 Oh, and actually I've just realized we do have enough wood for some sticks now.

00:03:13 So let's craft some up here.

00:03:15 Oh, but we still don't have a crafting table.

00:03:18 I guess we're waiting for this tree to grow them before we're doing anything else.

00:03:21 Speaking of, I should probably get some more planted.

00:03:23 Let's just put one around the back here so it's out of the way.

00:03:25 Oh, we might as well get the jungle sapling down too.

00:03:27 The sun is starting to get pretty low as well.

00:03:29 So why don't we just craft some torches up here?

00:03:31 Will probably help the saplings grow if we get some light in between them there.

00:03:34 Looks like it is fully nighttime now and I don't think we've got enough wool yet.

00:03:40 Oh, we got a spruce tree. Nice.

00:03:41 I've just realized we have enough for a crafty bench now.

00:03:44 And now we can craft a nice stone axe.

00:03:46 And we do have a mod installed which should chop the tree down in one block.

00:03:49 It still uses the full durability of the axe depending on how many logs are in the tree.

00:03:53 But it's gonna make life a little bit easier, isn't it?

00:03:55 Oh, we have got four spruce saplings already, which means we can get one of the chungus trees.

00:03:58 I would like to do that straight away, but we don't really have too much dirt to spare.

00:04:03 So for now, I'll just replant one and we'll go from there.

00:04:05 Next up, I want to craft a stone hoe as well.

00:04:07 We should really get some of this food planted.

00:04:09 We got a little farming strip here.

00:04:11 I think we'll just go with potatoes.

00:04:12 Oh, and I've just had another idea.

00:04:14 Since we have logs now, we can make a campfire.

00:04:17 Then we should be able to put our raw cod on there.

00:04:41 But for now, just so we have a little bit more room to walk around, I think this will be perfect.

00:05:52 which means everything can just be found on Y level 11.

00:05:55 And honestly, looking at the way these old ore styles are,

00:05:57 it's quite pleasing to the eye, isn't it?

00:05:59 They're all very clean.

00:06:00 I kind of miss that about the old game.

00:06:03 All right, how much dirt did we get there?

00:06:04 We got almost two stacks.

00:10:45 Now we need to start thinking about

00:10:47 getting our home built up.

00:10:48 And I've had a little bit of a play about so far,

00:10:50 which is why the cobblestones here.

00:10:51 So what I'm thinking is starting off with a seven by seven.

00:10:54 So if we bring it along to there

00:10:55 and then we'll just come back by six

00:10:56 and get that all connected up.

00:10:58 So that'll be our main building.

00:10:59 I'm just using cobblestone as the foundation.

00:11:01 I'm going to build the structure on top of it.

00:11:03 But what we can then do is come around the side

00:11:04 and bring this part out here.

00:11:06 So that would act as like a tower

00:11:07 and that should be a nice little shape.

00:11:09 And I'm thinking we just build this entire structure

00:11:11 out of spruce and oak logs

00:11:12 with some planks and trapdoors chucked in,

00:11:14 you know, for extra detail.

00:11:15 I'm going to come to the corners here

00:11:16 and build up by four.

00:11:17 We'll get them all stripped on the way up as well.

00:11:19 Hopefully I'm not going to break my ankles

00:11:20 too much doing this.

00:11:22 How's that looking?

00:11:23 Yeah, I think that's a nice little base shape

00:11:26 I'm going to craft a bunch of slabs

00:11:28 and a bunch of trapdoors

00:11:29 and we can use that to detail

00:11:31 what I'm going to make the roof out of.

00:11:32 So first of all, I'm just going to run these logs

00:11:35 across the side here like this.

00:11:36 And then I think we'll take the slabs

00:11:38 that we just built

00:11:39 and make an offset full block here like this.

00:11:41 And then if we just get on top here,

00:11:43 we can run this all the way back

00:11:44 and get this filled in with a slab.

00:11:46 And then you can kind of see what I'm going for here.

00:11:47 Just like a nice triangle shape.

00:11:49 We'll do another one of them there.

00:11:50 And then just bring the logs across.

00:11:52 I think you get the gist by now.

00:11:53 Yeah, I think that's looking pretty good.

00:12:13 so we can turn these little bits of stone into buttons.

00:12:17 on the front of the logs here.

00:12:18 I think that'll look nice.

00:12:20 Before we go super heavy on the details

00:12:22 and filling the walls in.

00:12:23 Should probably get this tower sword, shouldn't we?

00:12:31 All right, let's get this thing filled up.

00:12:32 I'm just thinking of going up by maybe seven or eight here.

00:12:35 I guess we're jumping onto the roof.

00:12:36 Time to break our legs.

00:12:38 Yeah, that seems a good enough height.

00:12:39 Yeah, let me get the other corners filled in.

00:12:41 I think we've got a pretty good shape here.

00:12:43 I just went for a little five by five.

00:12:44 Keep it simple, you know.

00:12:45 And for the roof on this one,

00:12:46 I'm just going to keep it spruce planks.

00:12:48 So it's kind of in line with that little shack down there.

00:12:50 But I am going to make this one tallest.

00:12:52 Let's start bringing the roof up by two with this section.

00:12:54 Yeah, it's looking like a nice gradual incline there.

00:12:56 And then for the final part of the top here,

00:12:57 I think I'm just going to go up by two again.

00:12:59 Should round it off nicely.

00:13:00 Time to break our legs again.

00:13:05 That's come out really nice, hasn't it?

00:13:06 You just know if it looks nice before the details,

00:13:08 that's going to be a good one.

00:13:10 I feel like we do need some contrast in these walls though,

00:13:12 which is why I've decided to go with oak instead.

00:13:15 And I do want to mix it up with some stripped oak logs.

00:13:17 But I think it's going to be easier

00:13:19 just putting all the planks in first,

00:13:20 then we can do the windows,

00:13:22 and then we can base the detail around the windows

00:13:24 and everything else once it's in.

00:13:25 I think for the tower at the front here,

00:13:27 I'll probably just knock a little two by one hole out

00:13:29 on the front there.

00:13:30 And we can just circle back to that detail later on.

00:13:32 Ow.

00:13:33 Yeah, that's looking pretty cool already, isn't it?

00:13:35 It's all coming together.

00:13:36 I think I'll kind of just do a little bit of a trim

00:13:39 along the top.

00:13:39 If we just take the top blocks out here like this,

00:13:42 then we can just put the stripped oak logs in the top there.

00:13:44 And it should give like quite an old weathered effect.

00:13:47 And we probably want some in the tower here too at the top.

00:13:49 So let me just knock a few of these blocks out.

00:13:51 And same as before, just get them placed in.

00:13:53 And that is already making a difference.

00:13:55 I really like that.

00:13:56 And anybody who's watched my videos before

00:13:58 knows how much I just love barrels.

00:13:59 So of course, we're going to go around

00:14:01 and put barrels in all the corners.

00:14:03 Anybody who doesn't like barrels,

00:14:04 let me know in the comments and I'll actually fight you.

00:14:12 And what I want to do is just come to the tower here

00:14:14 and pop the fences just in the corners like this.

00:14:19 I'm thinking we can just probably go with the fence.

00:14:21 I'm just looking at it from this angle

00:14:22 and it just feels like something's kind of missing

00:14:24 from the middle there, doesn't it?

00:14:25 So I'm thinking we could probably get away

00:14:27 with putting maybe a chimney or two on top.

00:14:29 I think I would want to make that out of granite,

00:14:31 but I'm not confident we've actually got any spare.

00:14:33 You know what? That's fine.

00:14:34 We can quickly head underground

00:14:35 into our little mining section that we've got.

00:21:33 and venturing into the Nether.

00:21:39 and there is no chance that I'm going to the Nether without diamond gear.
